When realized that Ojukwu was bent on on declaring Biafra, on 27th May just 3 days to the declaration of the Republic of Biafra (30th May 1967), Gowon created the Rivers and Cross River states out of the Eastern Region.

To balance the equation he created 10 other states in Nigeria on same day.

This is the origin of creation of states in Nigeria that has given us 36 of them today. It is all about stopping the coming of Biafra.

It is important to root out part of what our ancestor has done..so that all these indomie generations that are just following politician like houseflies to their grave will know what has happened to their ancestor and who caused it.

Easterners have been thinking that Nigeria is their problem for a long time. But they fail to realize that their own leaders are doing much more damage to their welfare than the federal government. The day they start holding their own leaders accountable for all the federal allocations and IGRs, that is the day they'll stop agitating for Biafra and begin the journey for their own regional development.

The name Biafra is not a crime. Hausa call themselves Arewa and it's not a crime, Yoruba call themselves oduduwa and it's not a crime, Igbos/Calabar/Ogoja/Ijaw etc calls themselves Biafra and it's not a crime.

IPOB is only seen as a terrorist organization only in Nigeria and IPOB is challenging that in court but Nigeria government is running from the case.

Gowon admitted it during restructuring debate he said " we restructured to stop Nigerias break up" that was how he ended federalism.

Quite ironically, it is Ironsi that mischief maker like to blame.
