A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state, Bilyamin Shehu on Saturday said Nigerians are eagerly looking forward to the declaration of assets by the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking with worldviewafrica, he said Tinubu who will be inaugurated as president on May 29 should follow the footsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari by declaring his assets publicly upon assumption of office and when his tenure ends.

He said “ Many Nigerians including myself are looking forward to the asset declaration by Tinubu. I hope the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) will present the forms to him quickly upon assumption of office. We want to know what the man is really worth because there are lots of speculations and rumours going on about his net worth”.

“Some are saying he own all the major properties in Lagos. Others are saying he is the owner of Alpha Beta, the consulting firm collecting IGR on behalf of Lagos state government. Yet others are saying Tinubu is even richer than (Aliko) Dangote who is known to be Africa’s richest man”.

“All these speculations will be laid to rest once he declares his assets and made it public. Like Buhari did, he should also make his assets public when leaving office”.

Will he declare his assets? No! I doubt. Whether he does or didn't, he will still be criticized.

Code of conduct bureau is as fraudulent as the Nigerian politicians for not making the assets declaration of politicians public. Are the not servants to the people?
Perhaps, tinubu will declare non existing assets which he will purchase later with public funds.

You guys think he owns most of the assets in his name? Wealthy people keep their assets in trusts, business entities or simply keep them in other people's names. There's no reason to personally expose yourself to alot of liability. Refer back to Achraf Hakimi the top G for info. He will be wealthy but nothing eye popping.
