History Of Kaaba by Adnanijaz: 6:12pm On May 31, 2023
The famous Kaaba is mentioned in various sections of the Quran, where it is referred to as the first place of obedience for mankind. Islam holds that the Kaaba was reconstructed multiple times throughout history, most notably by Ibrahim and his son Ismail when they came back to the Mecca Valley. The Mataaf is the name for the region where pilgrims walk around the Kaaba. The Ka'ba, a cube-shaped structure, is located at the center of the sanctuary in Mecca. Every year, a large number of Muslims choose Umrah packages all-inclusive to perform Umrah. The city has traditionally been regarded as the spiritual hub and core of Islam.

The first guardian of the Holy House:

Since then, Ismael, the Prophet Ibrahim's son, has assisted in the construction of this location, and his line of successors has served as the Holy Shrine's caretakers. According to history, the Kaaba's guardianship remained in the Ismael family for many years until Abdul-Manaf's name gained popularity. This duty was passed down to him, and he took over this service and greatly increased its importance.

The idols and Prophet Ibrahim:

This house was constructed by Prophet Ibrahim for intense worship of the One True God. However, during his lifetime, people started putting idols within the Kaaba in violation of his commands. The house of these idols and of these idol worshippers needed to be purified by Prophet Ibrahim. He explained to the crowd that this was a representation of God's life. God is everywhere, so He does not reside there. This reasoning was not accepted by the populace, and after Prophet Ibrahim's death, idols were once again erected across the area. Every year, they come here to worship their individual gods.

The foundations becoming revealed:

Currently, Kaaba is around 60 feet high, 60 feet wide (east to west), and 60 feet deep (north to south). Its eastern corner was fastened with a black stone (Hajar al Aswad). In front of the structure were Maqam Ibrahim, the Zamzam Well, and the arch-shaped gate known as the Banu Shayba gate. Historically, when Prophet Ibrahim was given the instruction by Allah to construct the place of worship, he found the ancient Kaaba foundations that had been established by Prophet Adam. On the same foundations, Prophet Ibrahim built the new shrine with the assistance of his son Ismael. At first, it had no roof and only four walls.

The compass's four sides:

The layers of grey and blue stone from the hills that surround Makkah are used to construct the entire structure. The four corners essentially face the compass's four points. Rukn el Aswad is located in the east; Rukn el Iraqi is located in the north; al Rukn el Sham is located in the west; and Rukn el Yamani is located in the south. A curtain (Kiswa) hangs across the room's four walls. The Shahada is commonly defined by the fabric's weave on the Kiswa, which is often made of black brocade.

Reconstruction and re-fortification:

Verse 121–127 of Surah Baqara from the Holy Quran make it plain that Allah had appointed Prophet Ibrahim to construct the shrine there for the worship of one God. It was reconstructed and reinforced under Kusayi's reign. The Makkah quarreled among themselves about who should have the honor of setting the black stone there when the time came to do so in the early years of Hazrat Muhammad SAW. The Kaaba was damaged due to flooding. They had just determined that the honor would be decided by the one who entered the quadrangle first. When Prophet Muhammad arrived, he was given this duty.

Following Karbala:

Yazid Ibn Muawiyah, the Umayyad Caliph, continued his effort to destroy him after the murder of the Prophet's family at Karbala in 61 Hijri (681 AD). Haseen Ibn Namir led a sizable company that he took to Medina, where they demolished the Prophet's Mosque. They continued on and destroyed the four walls of the Kaaba in Makkah, killing hundreds of Muslim protestors in the process. Abdullah Ibn Zubayr and his companions restored the Kaaba as a result of Yazid's passing and Ibn Namir's departure for Damascus.
