The local production of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol, by Dangote Refinery, Port Harcourt Refining Company and others in Nigeria is not going to change the pump price of the commodity, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has said. https://punchng.com/dangote-ph-refineries-others-wont-change-fuel-price-nnpcl/ 11 Likes 2 Shares

Very true. Save employment that they may grant, the prices are even going to soar. When Dangote bought Benue Cement Company Gboko for instance, we all jubilated here and thought prices were going to crash, but we unfortunately saw the prices doubled. Infact, a bag of Dangote cement in Benue where the product is produced costs more than it is when the same product is taken to Kano. The rich always have a way. Just another way of raising his stakes as one of the richest men in the world. Plus or minus, it is good for the economy, but don't expect prices to crash. 47 Likes 3 Shares |

He didn't explain why local production won't reduce fuel price , if you're producing in Nigeria, will there still be a landing cost ? Nigeria government is never straight forward in dealing with its citizens. Na still corruption be this anyways. 209 Likes 15 Shares |

juvewalex: They always think ppl are dunce, how can you compare the cost of a product made locally to the one refined in a foreign land, and they need to be careful tbh. 113 Likes 7 Shares |

Freight cost to and from nigeria , landing cost . Foreign refining expenses as well as taxes in the countries with the refineries . How will it not reduce? However , I always said Dangote is no fool . He borrowed money to build the refinery . He would rather sell at the current price or higher to quickly meet his financial obligation . In fact if it is 1000 per litre the better for him . Why do you think that subsidy removal coincides with the start of his refinery ? Make we dey play dey go . 110 Likes 8 Shares |

Freelancer2020: He actually isn’t making sense. Will the shipping, handling and other overhead costs involved in fuel importation that add up to the landing cost still apply if we’re refining locally? Kyari should stop turning economics on its head. 156 Likes 5 Shares |
Re: Dangote, PH Refineries, Others Won’t Change Fuel Price – NNPCL by dyera(m): 7:58am On Jun 02, 2023 |
blaise26abj: It simply means that Dangote will include all of those cost when deciding the amount he will sell his product even though he is not paying for them. Reason why Dangote price will be the same as importers. 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Clear enough. The question now is is if the profits/subsidy recovered will be channelled appropriately to what will benefit Nigeria and Nigerians. But our political class enh? Sic 1 Like 1 Share |

Then why are we celebrating it,Petroleum refineries convert (refine) crude oil into petroleum products for use as fuels for transportation, heating, paving roads, and generating electricity and as feedstocks for making chemicals. Refining breaks crude oil down into its various components, which are then selectively reconfigured into new products. Why won't we benefit from it, something that will make price if petroleum almost free in Nigeria 10 Likes
