NLC President Joe Ajaero has asked workers to go on strike next Wednesday over the removal of petrol subsidy, despite being privy to the distressing financial figures, which justified why subsidy ought to have been scrapped a long time ago.

My advice to the perceptive workers and the Nigerian populace is simply to ignore Ajaero and his ilk.

He is playing politics and is actually acting the script of the opposition Labour Party, out to destabilise the young Tinubu administration.

Besides, one wonders whose interest Ajaero is championing, when he did not oppose the position of his Labour Party and presidential candidate, who campaigned with the promise to scrap subsidy from Day One, if elected.

NLC and TUC leaders knew since last year November that subsidy will be scrapped from July 1 as no provision has been made in the budget for it, beyond this date.

The Federal Government which already commits 96 percent of its revenue in servicing debt is not in any position to continue selling subsidized fuel, most of which is smuggled across our borders for criminal and obscenely unpatriotic profit.

Subsidy of fuel is no longer sustainable as the FG is virtually broke.

Apart from its N77 trillion debt, it also owes the NNPC Limited about N2.4trillion for past subsidies.

The Nigerian people and workers should support the government as it works out new wages and rolls out other interventions, as promised by President Tinubu, to mitigate the effects of new fuel price.

Let's not make ourselves pawns in the hands of the politically biased and tainted NLC and TUC. Ajaero is no more a labour leader. He is a politician and leader of Labour Party. He is no more representing all the Nigerian workers.

I CANNOT FATHOM HOW ANY REASONABLE PERSON AND THE COURTS WOULD LISTEN TO THE NLC. A PARTY IN THE POLITICAL CONTEST WON BY THE GOVERNMENT THAT DEFEATED IT IN JUST CONCLUDED PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS.

Secondly, the NLC is now led by bunch of IDIOTS who wish to force the government to give what it neither has nor could give and or control.

LET ME SEE WHICH COURT WOULD ASK ME FOR THE MONEY I DO NOT OWE AND OR HAVE.

Someone should sit the NLC body of GOATS down with a cane to drive it into their DEAD crass sculls and like ABC... that the government does not the money for subsidy. It does not even have enough money for essential things of life in Nigeria.

THE NLC AS CURRENTLY CONSTITUTED CONSISTS OF RECLACITRANT SENSELESS BRIGANDS.

The NLC neither has the backings nor the support of the Nigerian people for the reckless agitation planned against the federal government with the MISADENVURIST activism it threatens to embark upon.

THE IDLE LOAFING NLC SHOULD GO GET SOMETHING MEANINGFUL AND PRODUCTIVE DOING.

Enough of the NLC nonsense.

The same NLC that occupied Nigeria in 2012 leading to the formation of APC that propped up Buhari and Tinubu because of fuel subsidy removal is now a 'saboteur' for demanding a review of the same policy is the one that APC is now trying to accuse of working for Peter Obi whom APC have been sharing his videos supporting subsidy removal.
Confusion everywhere 😕

More like the Federal Government wants to shift it's failure to fix the refineries,. somewhere else.

This thing is just common sense, fix the fucccking refineries and there'd be no need for subsidy.

And people keep talking about palliatives and palliatives,

Nigerian government is so corrupt and incompetent, they don't even have the capacity to share palliatives.

I stand with NLC.

You cannot remove fuel subsidy without putting in place measures to cushion the effect.

Peter Obi clearly gave the measures that had to be put in place before removing oil subsidy.

I will advise APC and Tinubu to go read Peter Obi's complete tweets on oil subsidy removal. They will learn a lot from those tweets

I will only stand with Tinubu if he can apologize to GoodLuck Jonathan which I know he would have done in secret typical Nigeria man after he has been collecting and collecting na now he know say e Bleep up. They should have removed the subsidy long time ago. By now Nigeria would have stabilized everything is so bad in Nigeria right now the masses has been feeling the heat since the beginning of the year till date.
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
I believe Nigeria will be great Again we are on a recovery path but let Tinubu and team re strategize and get the Economy booming and Africa at large booming

Obidients are trying to use NLC to cause confusion in Nigeria. NLC lost their legitimacy to represent workers' interests the moment they went openly and supported a candidate in the last election and campaigned vigorously for that candidate.

You probably don't know that NLC and TUC are the two most major stakeholders in the Labour party right from inception.. it is their right to back their baby.

But Tinubu has plunged the nation into this great suffering, and NLC is duty-bound to play it's part in ensuring that the needs of the general population are well taken care of.
You can't just wake up from your drug induced stupor and plunge the nation into a mess and expect that the citizenry will fold their arms.

PDP, LP, NLC, TUC and Obidients all believe in subsidy removal, but they all want measures put in place so as not to cause a huge shock to the system.
All these groups will support any strikes or protests organised to stop Tinubu's madness.

You cannot blackmail NLC this time around

During that protest, many people came without understanding the situation then. Even David Hundeyin regretted it,many people regretted it. Doing the same this time is called foolishness.

It will work, because both obidients and BATists are affected by the sharp subsidy removal with no cushioning.

Even some BATists will be involved. Just admit that Tinubu has just shown himself to be supremely incompetent.

Peter Obi would have handled this situation much more gracefully.
