...otherwise I see no reason why a person who claims to be a profitable forex trader will be finding it difficult to raise such a small amount of capital from his close circle of contacts

First deal I got failed cause of some unforseen natural circumstances.
Another deal came up and I made sure i sealed the opportunity.
I'll post some of the track records.
Pulled it up to 1k$ from 100$

Just like you wrote, the guy is indeed a scam. Gave him some small funds to trade and to test him. He has refused picking my calls and messages.
With people like him , people will not take Nairalanders serious.
It is borne out of poverty mentality of such individuals.

U just open an account with a broker and put I the money instead and send him d password for the mt4/5 trading platform...dat way ur money is safe
