I agree with TUC, the FG should do that for a start
do you know that the same govt can agree on whatever amount and still go ahead to lay off workers? Sometimes common sense is needed in things like this.

Most of these government workers does nothing other than gossip in the office. They are only busy when it's time to pay salary.
They are nothing but liability to Nigeria.
FG should digitize operations of all government parastatals and reduce the workforce by half.

You call Nigerian workers liabilities. That's exactly what you are!!! No apologies. That's exactly what the old super corrupt thief and drug baron is to Nigeria! Both of you can excuse yourselves from our dear country.

A nation as rich as Nigeria paying a minimum wage of 30,000 naira. Nigeria is not a country but a business.

Maybe 200k is a little too high.

For me, realistically, minimum wage should be non-negotiably 150k.

😂
You better go and carry gun and rob central bank
150k from where?

When the minimum wage is increased to 100k N20 & N50 will then be worthless. Then you would wish everything is left the way it was cos price of goods will skyrocket due to increase taxes on goods and services and you will still be unable to do anything with the 100k.

Yea a corresponding increase in minimum wage as well. If fuel price can be increased from 183 to 520. A similar increasement to balance the equation is a fair request
Bro, let be realistic in our analysis, it is not only government workers that are in Nigeria, there are artisans, businessmen, people working in private sector, what will be their fate, there are so many individuals in Nigeria are earning less than minimum wage in this Nigeria self, they should pressurized the government to ensure that our money is valuable and its purchasing power increase drastically....

How much do Lawmakers earn monthly as salary and allowances??!

Please, what meaningful thing or things do they do??!

How much is budgeted for the renovation of Aso Rock villa and Clinic every year??! Why do the heads of state keep flying out for medical treatments??!

How much is the car allowance of the Executive and Legislative??!

You frown at civil servants being paid higher in the midst of a hike in prices of fuel and commodities, but nothing is wrong in dispensing Billions every year solely for the excesses of Mr. President and his gang of charlatans!

Suffer nor dey tire una??!

Re: Increase Workers Minimum Wage To N200,000 – TUC Tells FG by omoadeleye(m): 9:23pm On Jun 05, 2023
For government to be able to disburse funds for different ministries, government needs to also generate revenue, and how does government generate revenue is through taxes and borrowings.

So, if you expect government to increase their spendings that means there must be an increase in taxes and borrowings too.

So if the minimum wages is increased to that 100k or 200k just expect some automatic increase in inflation because buyers already know that you will be able to pay for what was being sold for 1k for 5k so everything will balance.

What we need to be agitating for is government to improve on the macro economics of the country and everything go sweet for all of us.

So, how come the government can afford to pay Billions to Executive and Legislative members and their staff members??!

It's this unfair and inequitable distribution of national resources, as well as loans, that lead to such mistrust between them and the Labor unions!

You want the average citizens to suffer and make adjustments in their spending lives, while you continue to live like kings and queens!

Injustice like this will never bode well for any nation!
