As the race for the 10TH Senate President intensifies, the All Progressive People Congress (APC) chieftain, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe and the former minister of works has said that Nigerian Politics is not for for the poor, it is for the rich.

The senator stated this today (Wednesday) June 7, while fielding questions on the Arise TV “Morning Show” programme.

According to Ogunlewe, “To dictate partys choice for the leadership of National Assembly, Nigeria is not what you see in the day, Nigeria is run in the night”, He said.

“In the senate a decision will be taken during the day, but later in the night the whole thing will change”. This is because there might be need for the lawmakers to defend their constituency.”

When asked of the senators thought on APC’s choice of choosing Akwa Ibom former governor, Akpabio, to run for the senate president, if he is a perfect fit for the job considering his constituency. He said, “Bola Tinubu knows this game, I have no fear about the person he has selected|”.

Concerning a statement he made earlier stating that senators have to return back to their constituencies.

He said, “Nigerian politics is not for the poor, its for the rich, you have to stand very solid before attaining the position of a senator”.
