The Nigeria Diaspora for Asiwaju (NDA) recently held a commemorative inauguration ceremony at the Palladium Garden Residence Hotel in Katampe Extension, Abuja.

The event aimed to honor key individuals who played a significant role in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidential campaign, including his Vice Senator Kashim Shettima. Among the distinguished awardees recognized for their notable contributions was Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, the former Minister of State for the FCT.

During the event, Mrs. Omotayo Olokodana accepted the award on behalf of Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, acknowledging her invaluable contributions to Asiwaju's presidential campaign. Dr. Aliyu's dedication and tireless efforts in supporting the cause positioned her as an icon and champion of Asiwaju's electoral victory. Her recognition at the ceremony was well-deserved, considering her track record of exemplary leadership.

A press conference held at Nanet Suites in the Central Business District of Abuja before the event provided an opportunity for Alhaji Abiola Wasiu, the Country Director of NDA and Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, to express his satisfaction with the group's nationwide efforts in ensuring a successful inauguration ceremony and award night. He commended the committee members for their unwavering dedication.

Mr. Akin Badeji, the Global Director General of NDA, also expressed optimism that the event would be a resounding success, emphasizing the importance of honoring those who played a significant role in Asiwaju's electoral victory.

The first category of awardees was unveiled, featuring prominent figures such as Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, the First Lady of Gambia, and Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja General of the Federation. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Executive Chairman of Nigeria Diaspora Commission, Dr. Hassan Liman SAN, Dr. Raji Nasiru, the Director General of Nigeria Productivity Centre, and Dr. Amb. Alfred Mboto, a close associate of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, were also recognized.

Furthermore, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka and Dr. Toba Oloyede were among the awardees in this category, with the second category set to be announced soon.

The meeting brought together members of the group from various parts of the globe, including Mrs. Vivian Osadebey-Ndah, Dr. Adewale Oyinlola, Mr. Chidi Adabanya, Hon. Bunmi Kama, Ms. Tosin Aragbaye, and many others.

The commemorative inauguration ceremony and award night organized by the Nigeria Diaspora for Asiwaju was a momentous occasion, celebrating the achievements and contributions of these exceptional individuals. It served as a testament to the unity and unwavering support that propelled Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to victory in the recent presidential elections.
