It is a concrete elevated water tower. Na just normal tank but built with concrete. It is one of the best way to store water. Safe, durable and in case of fire outbreak. It keeps stored water safe from contaminants, bacteria and pathogens. Concrete can also keep water cooler throughout the entire year as the material itself is a poor conductor of heat. Plus it also helps keep water molecules intact. They provide sufficient pressure for effective water distribution within the networks system. They rely on hydrostatic pressure produced by elevation of water (due to gravity) to push the water into the different system.

You're an expert sir. Kudos

Water Tower.
Used to store water for onward distribution to feedlines using gravity.
A sign that Nigeria is retrogressing instead of progressing .

We used to have these everywhere including local towns.
But purewater till take over.

Most of houses in our Cities today, is self made Water ( boreholes) since govt( both States and Fed) have failed in this direction - just like DISCOS ( formerly NEPA)!
Re: What Is This Thing Situated In Almost Every Nigerian City? (Pictured) by fineboynl(m): 5:12pm On Jun 07, 2023
grin lol. Function the same way water flow’s from overhead tank into the house in bole hole sittings l.

It serve the community flowing pipes when the water is dropping from that tower it come down with great pressure and force which enables it to distribute to every part of that community.

Sadly they stop functioning many years ago.

This only shows government has failed in this part of the world. Even a ghana they still relies on water cooperation for house hold water.

It is an overhead water storage reservoir. It utilizes gravity to generate the force necessary to transport the water over long distances to various homes.
