Nyesom Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, praised President Bola Tinubu for removing Godwin Emefiele from his position as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Wike, who was one of Emefiele’s detractors for his policies, particularly the redesign of the Naira, responded to the news by calling the President’s choice bold and opportune. According to a statement from his media team, the former governor of Rivers State also reprimanded President Tinubu for endorsing consistency in the retirement age and pension of judicial personnel nationwide.
