I agreed. IBB singlehandedly truncated our most credible general elections. |

No. Nigerians reject it! A president must actually win election. The election was declared inconclusive because it was terribly executed and there was no clear winner. Only a winner can reap, one cannot reap where one did not sow. Enough is enough.

Babzrockman: The election was poorly executed with mass irregularities, till today we don't truly know the winner. IBB did what was best for national unity. Nigeria's unity is paramount. We must build a united nation, not a nation divided by tribe and ethnicity. We reject that.

Babzrockman: Interesting perspective. However, many still believe that Bashir Tofa actually won but was massively rigged. It will remain a mystery till tomorrow since it was so long ago, but one thing is for certain we don't actually know who truly won that election. Some say Tofa, some say MKO, some say neither. But we shouldn't categorically state that one beat the other, rather, we should merely say that there was an election, it was annulled due to rigging, and we don't truly know who won.

orisa37: Moreover we don't even know who truly won since the results were manipulated and never even released. |

Kaiser20: Exactly, what makes things worse is that the election was heavily flawed. IBB wouldn't have annulled a free, fair and credible election. We should respect the name of IBB as he is an elder of this nation! The youth of today have no respect for elders. We should respect our leaders and their legacy, next they will come for Buhari or Abacha when these men did all the could so that we can be here unified.

SalamRushdie: I wouldn't make this tribal. This has more to do with democracy, Alhaji Bashir Tofa was widely popular across the nation and garnered many votes. Some even say he won the election, however when the results came back, many realized that he was heavily rigged in certain places, places where he was popular. The same with MKO he also lost in places you would have expected him to win. So IBB in his wisdom, and for national unity, simply canceled the election due to mass rigging and irregularities. That is the democratic way, the sanctity of the democratic process must be respected above all! This is bigger than tribe vs tribe my brother.
