https://youtube.com/shorts/Co0TBQlmxlQ?feature=share The aim is to create a modified E39 without ferries. The travel time has been cut in half and the route has been shortened by nearly 50km. Shorter travel times are achieved by replacing ferries with bridges and tunnels, as well as improving some land roads. With a total length of 1,000 kilometers, the tunnel will be the longest and at the same time the deepest (30 meters) underwater road tunnel in the world. The project has a US$47 billion cost limit Norway's first underwater tunnel was the Valdor Tunnel, which opened in 1982. Most of the tunnels are built as fixed links so they can be abandoned for ferry traffic.
