Idemili South Council Boss, Hon. Amaka Embarks On Medical Outreach Screens Over 200 Constituent.

As part of best measures to ensure good health and prevent terminal diseases, over two hundred residents of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State recently received free health screening, sponsored by the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon.(Mrs) Amaka Obi.

According to her, the program is aimed at bringing hospital and health care facilities closer to the people of the area.

The outreach featured free health insurance enrollment to sustain free medical checkup for diabetics, hypertension for three months, distribution of free drugs, free consultation and necessary treatment, free antenatal care, free eye checkups and issuance of lenses glasses, and counseling and health education for those in the rural areas.

The council boss maintained that Idemili South has established the free and easy healthcare for all constituents especially the elderly persons, stating that health provision is topmost agenda of Governor Charles Soludo.

The MD, Anambra Health Insurance Agency ably represented by Dr. Ifediora Ngozika commended Hon. Obi for reaching out to the "common man."

According to her; the health sector should be community driven.

"I commend Idemili South Council boss for this kind gesture; with this, she has given wealth to the people because health is wealth. As you can see, the people are happy for being beneficiaries", she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Ifeoma Ogbu expressing her appreciation stated that she is satisfied with the standard of the medical attention, noting that her glasses were replaced at no cost.

She said almost all the members of her family had benefited from Hon. Obi's goodwill to the people of Idemili South and pray God will continue to bless and sustain the council chairman in her good work to the people of Idemili.
