Pride is of the devil and was the 1st sin. God is humble, not proud...If you show pride, God will resist and humble you as he did King Nebuchadnezzar.

Because the proud remind Him of Lucifer. Pride leads to one to committing sin and the wages of sin is death/eternal separation from God..
