Court Convicts Musician Shallipopi, Others For Internet Fraud After Efcc Arrest by Bigbrothergisth(f): 6:57pm On Jun 25, 2023
After their detention by the EFCC, popular TikTok musician Crown Uzama, aka Shallipopi, and five others were tried and found guilty of Internet fraud by a court in Kaduna State.

You may recall that the agency recently arrested Shallipopi, famous for his song about Elon Musk, along with a few other lads, and that they were subsequently arraigned.

The organization made the update public via social media.

After they entered guilty pleas, Justice A. A. Isiaka handed down sentences of two years in prison with fines as an alternative.

Below is the complete statement.

Crown Uzama, a celebrity in the world of TikTok music, and five others were found guilty by Justice A. A. Isiaka on a single count of criminal impersonation, which is a violation of Sections 142 (1), 57, and 308 of the Kaduna Penal Code Law, 2017 and is punishable by Section 309 of the same Law.

Along with Joel Kator (Alfred Hudson), Abdul-Azeez Suleiman Temidayo (Miss Katie Official), Favour Chidiogo Emmanuel (Kate Banks), John Joseph (Avail Hollywood), Bethel Makuochukwu (Violetq Martinez), and Uzama (Shalli Popi and Miller Maxwell) were found guilty. Two weeks prior, Makuochukwu had been found guilty of money laundering.

All of them entered guilty pleas to the accusations that had been brought against them. M. E. Eimonye, M. Arumeni, M. U. Gadaka, and K.S. Ogunlade, the prosecution's attorneys, asked the court to find their clients guilty.

The accused were found guilty and sentenced to two years in jail with the possibility of fines by Justice Isiaka.

They must also hand over to the Nigerian government any confiscated property, including electronics, furniture, and more.

Based on the information gathered, the Command conducted raids across Kaduna and apprehended the accused. Based on the findings of the inquiry, it was determined that they had pretended to be foreign nationals in order to commit fraud on their victims.
