Go back and respond to my last comment before this and stop jumping around like a toad. [/quote

I think I have. We do not have to descend to the level of abuse.
Let us just have a debate based on facts.
I promise I will never descend to the level of personal abuse with anyone on this topic.

Very funny. Igbos did not vote for obj
They voted for PDP. If Alex ekeueme had left PDP after his defeat in the 1999 PDP convention, like OPPORTUNISTIC , UNPRINCIPLED OBI, Igbos will not vote for obj or atiku. Igbos supported PDP because they were convinced they could use it as a vehicle to achieve their AGENDA.
To buttress my point, the moment they realise that their hope of achieving their agenda in PDP is not achievable, YOU CAN SEE HOW THEY JUMP SHIP ENMASS.

Please go and study the history of Igbo politics very well. IT IS NEVER DRIVEN BY ANY FORM OF ALTRUISTIC PRINCIPLE.S
THEY ONLY USE THAT TO HOODWINK POLTICALLY CORRECT BUT GULLIBLE PEOPLE.
Honestly, I am not saying this out of malice, but out of the reality of THE NATURE OF IGBO POLITICS.
Why do u think that the ijaws,Ibibio, etc in the old Eastern bloc broke alliance with them?
On the issue of competence, the problem , again, is that the Igbos have arrogated to themselves the UNIQUE ABILITY TO IDENTIFY COMPETENCE ONLY IN THE PERSON THEY DESIRE TO GIVE THEIR 100 PERCENT SUPPORT TO!!?

So the north voted for apc and not Tinubu as in the case of Igbo voting for PDP and not OBJ?
You can twist your logic upside as much as you want but fact remains fact.
Our relationship with Eastern minorities is very much cordial you can take that to the bank.

One of the reasons that APC and Tinubu supporters proffered for the reason they associated Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded general elections, with Igbos is because they said they dug up his old tweets where he had spoken in favour of IPOB and also that in 2019, he campaigned for senate with Chinedu as his name.

Again, they accuse him of being a tainted blood since his mother is Igbo, and he too married an Igbo woman.

But Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has shared a throwback picture of where APC supporters printed a banner and renamed Mr Jimi Agbaje who was the guber candidate of the PDP in 2015 and 2019 elections in Lagos, as Jimi Chukwuemeka Agbaje Chinyere.

One now wonders why Jimi Agbaje was also associated with Igbos.

Did he too ever supported IPOB?

Is his mother Igbo?

Is his wife Igbo?

The answer to this questions are NO.

Jimi Agbaje was born in Lagos in 1957 to Chief Julius Kosebinu and Mrs Margaret Olabisi (both Yoruba).

He’s married to Mrs Abiola Agbaje (a Yoruba).

So, where did his association with Igbos come from?

This goes to prove only one thing - that APC and Sanwolu supporters lied.

Their attack on GRV was not because he’s not Yoruba enough or because he spoke in IPOB favour before but because that’s their usual campaign gimmick. To exploit ethnicity and use it to deceive the feeble minded Yorubas.

It has never been about capacity or anything, it has always been about tribalism for them.

Na! This is surely not a Yoruba thing. Yorubas are not ibos, we don't roll like that. This is fake news concocted by ipob miscreants

You clearly didnt understand the Yoruba word on the Jimi banner picture, Arungun akotileta is abusive words in Yoruba - it means spoiler of inheritance and a traitor. The banner was denigrating him clearly.

You are the one calling it fear. The real word is CHECK MATING.
Why would anyone FALL FOR A RUSE YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE?
The political SHENANIGAN AND SUBTERGE of Igbo politics is as obvious and clear as SEVEN-UP.
Many Yorubas, starting from our forefathers are just TOO SMART FOR IT.
REFUSING TO BE YOUR FOOL DOES NOT MEAN I HATE YOU OR I FEAR YOU.
GET THIS SIMPLE FACT.
No. You don’t checkmate, you keep playing dirty.

From the time of Awolowo when Azikiwe’s party defeated him in Southwest and he had to play the ethnic card to get NCNC members to his side so he could get majority to win Premier…

To this time of Tinubu where you have to butcher people and send thugs to polling units to prevent anyone that looks Igbo from approaching the polling units. And even the Yorubas that voted still voted against you but had to manipulate the votes in order to retain Sanwolu.

That’s not Chess game, that’s not shrewdness, it’s sheer criminality; an act of cowardice perpetuated by the weak.

Zik did not contest with Awolowo in d west, it was a parliamentary system. The Ibadan people's party were only in alliance with NCNC.
As usual, after the Yoruba candidates contested and won, zik wanted to reap where he did sow by sidelining the Yorubas in d NCNC and become the premier in d west.
Secondly, sanwoolu won the igbo- sponsored Yoruba bastard by over 400000 thousand votes. There are over 13000 polling units in Lagos, there are less than 100 violent incidents in the governorship election, so your assertion is false.
Please be assured that the well known Igbo agenda will never succeed in Lagos.

So Awolowo’s treachery is politics?

And violent issues, including murder, in about 100 polling units is non issue?

Yes!

Jimi Agbaje also embraced blanket support from the Igbos who have been obsessed for many years with an Igbo agenda to decide who governs in Lagos State.

Funny enough, it is the same PDP that Igbos have now rejected, that they wanted to foist on Lagos State.

Infact, the Igbos proudly boasted of it like it was a disease they were going to afflict Lagos with just for the fun of it. They were eventually disgraced as always.

Igbos on this forum never hid their desire then that they (Igbos) will decide who governs in Lagos and not the Yorubas.

So Agbaje was rightly classified as the Igbo candidate for the Lagos Governorship.

The question is, why are Igbos obsessed with determining who governs in Lagos?

Other non-Yoruba tribes resident in Lagos do not harbour this same obsession.

Your post makes no sense to what GRV is saying.
I want you to know, that every Nigerian, wether Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani Efik etc, is guaranteed by the constitution, the right to live anywhere of their choice peacefully, vote and be voted for. Therefore they IGBOS anywhere they are have the right to vote and be voted for, wherever they reside, as long as it is done in a peaceful and lawful manner.
But the issue here is tagging any candidate from any Party aside the ruling party in Lagos State, an Igbo candidate, to be able to win that election
It didn't only work in the last two elections, it happened against the gubernatorial aspiration of Dapo Sarumi in his hay days in politics
This is a dangerous political weapon, to stigmatize and humiliate both the candidate and the Igbo nation in Lagos State.
Ambition is something that is related to everyone. People are free to have ambition, based on the side that favours them. The IGBOS, both as individuals or as a people, haven't committed any crime in having any political aspiration or ambition in a place, where they have contributed to it's development in a humongous way.
They commit no crime in having aspirations or ambition in a place that have become their second home, where they pay their taxes, rents and dues. They have no crime, expressing their ambition, aspirations in a place where the grand norm of Nigeria, the constitution have guaranteed their rights and aspirations
I see no crime any Igboman have committed in having ambition in a place where some have spent over 75% of their life time, if truly they are Nigerians, except you are telling me they're not.
Giving their own sons,Igbo tag, to rob or deny them the sense of right belonging, to me is bad politics. It's worst than any terminal illness.
Today, Jimi Chukwuemeka Chinyere has gone back to APC, no one in APC is raising any doubt about his true indigeneship again. No one is accusing Dapo Sarumi of being Igboman or candidate after the election. It could be the turn of GVR tomorrow. If he decides to align himself politically with the high and mighty in the mainstream Yoruba politics and party, no one will remember his mother and wife are of Igbo extraction.
This is a dangerous form of politics
My concern in Lagos State,is about the real indigenous people of Lagos State, the Aworis and the rest, that have refused to stand tall to reclaim what belongs to them. They have elected to be docile, adopting a sit - don- look attitude. Otherwise how can someone come all the way from other parts of Yoruba land, to be governor, speaker, senator in Lagos State, when there's no kind of reciprocity of that magnitude extended to real Lagosians in those states. Your family ancestral linage, cannot be linked to any family in Lagos, You can never be an Oba in Lagos State, yet you want to exercise authority over Lagosians because you are a Yoruba man, this is quite absurd. This is my worry, not what one Obasa from Ogun State is talking. Imagine Hamzat Obafemi,a prince from Ogun State, been a deputy governor here, and no one from indigenous people of Lagos State can be that anywhere in the South West.
So it's that right you have as a non - indigene in Lagos State, that every Igboman and other Nigeria have also in Lagos State.
As to why other tribes in Lagos State, don't express their views about politics here, I think they will be in the best position to answer your question with regards to that.

On violence, was electoral violence PECULIAR to Lagos?
No. It was worse in the EAST where unlike Lagos, many lives were lost.

is seyi tinubu children igbo because he married igbo girl?
Why is Seyi Tinubu's wife called Igbo girl and Gbadebo called Yoruba by you igbos?

You know the girl is half Igbo like Gbadebo?
Her father is Lebanese and her mother, Igbo.

You people always say Gbadebo is a complete Yoruba man
But then switch immediately when it comes to Seyi Tinubu's wife.

The question is, is there an Igbo agenda concerning you people wanting Gbadebo to be Lagos governor by all means?

Don't cry more than the bereaved.
Lagos state is Yorubaland. We have Ijebus, Aworis, Egbas, Remos, ijeshas as people that can lay claim to Lagos state as indigenous, and looking at it, Awori in Lagos is the same as Awori in Ogun state up to Benin Republic or can you tell us the difference between an ijebu from Ogun state and the one from Lagos state. You can't separate them.
It's the same the Hausas do in the north too because they see themselves as one. That's why a Fulani man from Kano can go to Jigawa to vie for a political post. Do you know that El Rufai is not from Kaduna State? What of Datti Ahmed? He was integrated into Kaduna state from Mauritania because he's a Fulani man and many prominent politicians in the north. After all, their tribe is in Nigeria.
We see ourselves as being from a particular tribe first before becoming a Nigerian.
Tomorrow, if there is no Nigeria, I will still be a Yoruba man while I cease to be a Nigerian. It's only Igbo that didn't see themselves as one because of state creation.
It's absurd seeing someone from far away in south East trying to influence our politics.
If you are not from Yorubaland, don't meddle in our politics. Is that too hard for you to comprehend?
Agbaje failed the moment many Igbo groups started endorsing him.
When it comes to Yoruba matter, if you are not a Yoruba man don't dabble into it because it's a family affair.
