Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has inducted 200 Anambra teachers into, ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’ club in Awka.

Anambra State Governor's wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has inducted over two hundred teachers from the six education zones in the state into her school club, "Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo".

The event which held in the ASUDEB hall, Awka officially flags off the first phase of 'Healthy Living' with Nonye Soludo' as a club in two hundred secondary schools in Anambra State.

The programme, an initiative of Mrs Soludo, which aimed to set up Healthy Living Clubs in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state, will serve as formative grounds for education and exposure of school children, teenagers and youths to the basics for healthy living and how to incorporate them in their daily lives.

Speaking to guest and participants in a virtual platform, Mrs Nonye Soludo expressed her satisfaction with all participants. She described the initiative as an avenue to inculcate healthy living amongst students and youths.

"A healthy living is a thirst that cannot be quenched. We must therefore endeavour to eat healthy, live healthy and stay off illicit drugs, she noted."

She admonished the 'Teacher-Ambassadors' to maintain professional ethics and passion to teach and train the club members of discipline, integrity and morals in students of various levels of institutions.

In their separate remarks, the Commissioner for health, Hon Afam Obidike and his Youth Development counterpart, Mr. Patrick Aghamba applauded the initiative and called for inclusive participation of all stakeholders in the sector.

For the chairman, Anambra state Universal Basic Education Board (ASUDEB), Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, the project is timely and instrumental to fine-tune the creative process of students and youths.

She advised youths to shun drug abuse and dissociate from ill peer pressures and aim for a value- oriented future.
"The programme will touch every level of institutions in the state and we have plans to deplore ambassadors in the six regions to spread the initiative to all concerned, she affirmed!"
