Hiring these mopols is not free, I think there is statutory payment to the Police depending on the number of personnel you want to hire.

CSP Muyiwa is just playing to the gallery, one area oga at the top knows about their deployment.

It's a huge joke really.

Some VIPs have 10 or more policemen guarding them and their homes. Aside from policemen deployed on guard duties, they also have different private guards protecting them.

Now with such amounts of policemen on guard duties, how can societies be protected?

Boko Haram started as a tiny group. If policemen were available at the initial stage, we probably would not have had this massive conflagration.

Even the police bosses have plenty of policemen guarding them. Wastage is a very big issue in this country. Insecurity Fester's because those who should do the job are off the streets. They have become civilians in uniform. Aside from their monthly salaries, they are well paid by those who they guard.

As they say "he who pays the Piper dictates the tune". In the image seen, the man obviously would handsomely pay for the service rendered.

Policemen gaurding individuals should be withdrawn and let civizens who feel unsafe, employ private guards. They are very experienced and well trained too.

That last statement is the ‘KOKO’. How would a policeman paid with taxpayers money be employed by an individual citizen to guard them. I keep saying this, we are not ready as a nation.

I can't even understand the police,SPU (blue berets) was specifically created for VIP protection,so why use other police again?,the problem is not just lack of enough personnel but rational use, with good reorganization n rational usage, the police can do much better that it's presently doing.

A revolution is needed in this country to set things right
But you know the funny thing a revolution can not happen in Nigeria because tribalism is still very in our head

Ya all should fasten your seat belt...Nigeria is gonna get worse
We can no longer deceive ourselves..
Okay you all should imagine..fuel price increase and we heard it is gonna be increased to 700
Tertiary institution fee hike...elected officers salary to be increased by 114, 1k yearly car ownership certificate to be introduced..what about our normal car registration documents is that not enough evidence we own the car
Electricity hike is on its way
Nlc is a toothless bulldog and no protest anywhere
The people can not protest because it will be seen as fighting against a particular region because their son is the president
Same thing happened during end sars protest...the north did not participate because their son was the president
Maybe we should wait until a south south son becomes the president again then a protest can happen just like the way it happened during Jonathan subsidy removal
We should stop deceiving ourselves tribalism is ruining us in Nigeria

The salary is not enough. It is through these kind of deployment they argument the salary. That man paid for extra security and as far they were officially deployed to him, I don't have any problem with it. It is done in all professions. An auditor makes more when he/she is sent for external audit. A soldier sent on foreign peacekeeping do earn more too. We should stop over criticism.

In some parts of the world, active duty cops wait until they are off duty to take on Private Security work for various persons and organizations to augment their income. This should also be the case here.

I suppose the real concern here is that if a rich person or group can buy the time of the police at their will---then it is easy to make the same police look away when real crimes that hurt the poor are being committed.

Nigeria police and hypocrisy are like 5&6, so what's more disgusting?

Just recently there were viral videos showing some thugs threatening Nigerians against excising their right to vote and be voted for, these Thugs were being guided and escorted by same Nigeria police while making the threats and to some extend beating up voters, all the police could say was, we will investigate and review the videos, up till this moment nothing was heard about the incident..

Here they are threatening to punish officers for protecting a man and his Cow without hurting or harming anyone, is this not madness??

if these same officers disobey their boss for escorting any thing e.g man and cow, they will call it insubordination and probably demote them or dismiss they.

Just make money.

This is a gentle reminder that an average American earns your monthly salary every 4 hours.
But why is that average American buying everything I bought with low salary on credit? Their head to toe is on credit and you feel they are better? You better grow from mental slavery.

What we need to do is commercialize personal security provided by public officers.

The respondent in that article proposed N500K per month. That's fair.

And this.

Educate yourself on the nitty-gritty of protection services in Nigeria.

In a country as corrupt as Nigeria, a well armed private security company will moonlight as a mercenary unit on the side.
