Who Was Oduduwa? by lawani: 10:05am On Jul 01, 2023
Lamurudu (Nimrod) was the first post flood King of Sumeria (present day Iraq) over five thousand years ago. The person who founded the present Ife- Yoruba dynasty lived 51 kings ago and that is at most 2000 years ago, maybe 1500. He led many Kemitic Egyptian speaking foreigners to West Africa and became King at Ife. Lamurudu therefore can only be ancestor and not father of Oduduwa. Oduduwa most probably was an Egyptian aristocrat of Akkadian/Sumerian descent. If you go to Egyptian history online, you can deduce the actual dynasty but his original name was not Oduduwa. He was rechristened Oduduwa at Ife because Oduduwa is a premordial Yoruba deity name.

Now the Oduduwa that came from the North African direction most probably was an Egyptian of Sumerian descent and he is not the same as Oduduwa Atewonro who landed on Earth from space who was the first Olofin Aye Oduduwa and there have of course been many Oduduwas including women.
