Respect Students, Do Not Suffocate Them, Jobus Sends Message To Vice Chancellors by Thepointer: 7:21pm On Jul 02, 2023
The hike in school fees in most public Universities like OAU, UNIBEN, AAU as well as others is a true definition of indirectly taking away the right to education from poor Nigerians.

This development is a very tough one for Nigerians, after the Federal Government announced the Students loan act, most especially the fresh admitted students who have built the mentality of getting education in the most convenient way.

What they think is convenient has been made impossible by different schools including Federal Universities.

Late Friday night on the  Arise News, National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Vice President suggested that FG should give four buses to each Federal University across thirty-six states including FCT for school fee/fuel increament.

Amidst school fees Increase?

Shouldn't their priority be on how to reduce the outrageous school fees in public Universities?

It is important to state that Federal schools are not private schools. And the sole aim of establishing such institution is to give everybody equal access to good education.

Reacting to the suggestion made by NANS on National Television, a media personality and founder of All Campus Show, Busuyi Ojo popularly known as Jobus has said that the suggestion made is not the best thing to do as a solution for the hike in school fees and it is not a visible idea.

"It is like using mist mag for Headache. His suggestion is not visible, the budget is around N400M each for a school multiply by thirty seven Universities at least, who is funding it, FG? Who will fund fueling? Is it only education ministry we have in the country that the government will sponsor the logistics of the students with that huge amount in this strenous time? Let's think better than this Nigerian Students and know what we are doing please. Although, NANS has passion for Naija but let us make visible suggestions to challenges."

He further said that the Students loan provided is not accessible to all students.

Jobus said " it does not make sense if Federal government gives loan and Federal government still collect it back from the Students by increasing school fee, if that is the government's plan to give Students loan in order for the school fee to be increased so FG can collect back the money he loaned, which I doubt, then these students will still have to pay the loan when they start working, this is slavery of the highest order and it is not reasonable in a sane society, if government does not know anything about this school fee hike as I vouched for the government, then order should come from above, instructing all VCs to maintain the current school fees price and never increase any school fees.

"It is the president that preach do not suffer the poor but this act is suffocating the students already."

"We know Mr President, Asiwaju Tinubu has the Students in mind but this is like biting someone and blowing breeze, school management is biting the students, FG blowing, you can command the school management to stop biting instead of stressing yourself to blow breeze.

When you loan to someone and increase the school fees so that you can quickly collect it back, is it not better to hold your loan and leave the school fees like that?

"it is not all students that will have access to the loan so where would others who cannot access the loan get money to pay the outrageous school fees? This is slavery and it is the act of evil seeing from the Vice Chancellors of the Universities"

Jobus therefore plead with  the Nigerian government to call Vice Chancellors from different schools to order by making them reduce their school fees to what it used to be before.

Also, he stated that everyone deserves good and sound education.

"Poor Students should also go to  school easily. This act should not make them drop out.

"Imagine UNIBEN increase school fee from 15,000 naira to 45,000 naira in 2017. Now to over 100,000.

"This is act of wickedness and we will not accept this to happen, we will use all our strength as young ones to fight the school fee increment and save our less privileged Students from suffering.

"To prevent having a nation full of criminals, the government and the school management should understand and pity the poor because whatever you throw at them will come back to you and your children. I am the founder of All Campus Show since 2007, I have tour campuses across the Nation and I have seen a lot, how Students join bad gangs for lack of proper cares and poverty, that is what made us created Charity platform for the less privileged students.

"Do not suffocate them, let the poor breath" -Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

The only way is to fight the school fee hike in all the institutions, the management should be reasonable for  once, let the poor breath, Long live Nigeria, long live our president, God bless Nigerian students" he concluded.
