When American security agencies catches any vehicle used in smuggling of drugs, they would seize it and auction them out and make money. Even if it's rolls Royce or Bentley they will take it.

But Nigerian agencies will burn a whole vessel that they could have seized and auction out for millions of dollars.

Black man no get sense

Only a fool would support such a vessel being destroyed when it could be confiscated and used for something else

Have the Navy got enough ships?

Africans only know how to destroy, but not to build

Look at the world I created. Men are destroying things that they can use to progress. This is like killing the messenger with his messages.

Where is the cargo on board?
Where are the individuals on board?
Were they burnt together as well ?

If they cannot answerr my question then it's a hoax to hide the ship, cargo and individuals

So that the owners can come and buy it again at auction and resume work next week? How many people can afford such ships in Nigeria?

what you mentioned is what they do in civilised sane countries, but in Nigeria where corrupton is RAMPANT, the above is the best thing to do (so nobody will profit ever from this crime).

I can bet they have diverted the oil and burnt empty vessel.
Trust them at your own peril..

I.I can't get my head around certain things in this Naija....

I listened to the crew that was interviewed, apparently they were contracted to do the job. Where are the people who contracted them to do the job? These are the people to be paraded, not the crew men who obeyed the instruction from their bosses. Tomorrow the vessels will not agree to enter Nigerian waters nor personnel then we start another problem.

When they burn the barges and tankers, they destroy value and destroy the environment.

My suggestion will be
1 hand over the crude to NNpC for immediate programming for sale ..to storage or another legitimate outgoing vessel

2 confisticate and upon following process auction the vessel.

3 Prosecute the people who requested for the vessel.and the security personnel.who should have stopped it from happening...

This cannot be too difficult.

No much wisdom in that, what happens to investigation that will help prevent similar crimes. Are African just not thinking?

What if there are data in that vessel that give information about other vessels and other type of crime these people are committing.

Who ever gave the order to burn than vessel should be arrested investigated and dismissed. That should serves as deterrent for the others.!

Did they consider the environmental impact of this mode of destruction?
