The 2 weeks lockdown may be ignored by residents of the east but will northern trailer drivers who dominate the food supply network to the barren yeast ignore it on the threat of being killed by Ekpa's terrorists for flouting the supreme decree of locking down the yeast ?

While two weeks is bearable to the human stomach and only painful to ones pocket, how will an independent Biafra look like if the Nigerian govt decides to block food shipments to the Biafran nation?

The Nigerian govt has everything to gain in granting Biafra as the breakaway province remains a strain on the polity and her purse .

SE produces nothing other than red oil (and best quality at that) but get everything else from Nigeria .

An independent Biafra will not be a moral obligation to the Nigerian state in sustaining it in whatever guise be it infrastructural projects, energy and power, access to a larger market and cheap Forex for imports that SE businessmen have taken full advantage of.

With an independent Island state of Biafra all these will be cut off.

Movement in and out of Biafra into Nigeria will cease immediately. Mass deportations will be natural. Energy supply cut off and the Nigerian govt can do everything to forestall local energy development in Biafra by imposing huge port charges on every neccessary tech equipment .

But where the Nigerian govt has absolute control of Biafra will be through food supply which the Nigerian govt will use to very great extent that Biafran future elections and their diplomatic policy must be hinged on what the Nigerian govt expects of Biafra.

An independent Biafra will thus be worse off for the heebo as they will not enjoy what they do under the Nigeria franchise that guarantees them freedom of movement and settlement within the Nigerian realm plus the perks of subsidized infrastructure and Forex access.

Now assuming hardliners like Kanu or Ekpa emerge as leaders of the new state of Biafra? How do you think the Nigerian state will treat Biafra ?

As a hostile state and with such a blockade will be instituted that will see Biafra suffering great famine .

This is where cannibalism will be restarted.

Thankfully, the Nigerian government is not stupid nor cannibalistic enough to block food shipments to any part of Nigeria.

We get sense past eating each other. I believe.
