The implications would be that home made foods like local rice that have hitherto gaining popularity would now be less demanded.Apart from this,there would be less demand for similar home made materials whether of clothing, building etc.ln this regards,the gained of past years of self reliance would go into drain.However, the masses would be relieved of hunger and things would seemed fantastic but at long run economic will suffered. What has the border closure achieved so far?! Nothing! You can't boost local production or export by closing borders, that is a very crude method. Create and enabling environment for business, provide power, give incentives for for local businesses and make funds available for SMEs to access at very little interest rate, deliberate policies to stimulate production and see if our locally made products won't compete with imported ones. Business is all about competition.

Local food production was a plot to swell the pockets of the northern farmers and punish Nigerians. A plot most of us fell for without much understanding. They are expensive and yet not of high quality. Especially the rice.
