Ilorin is a testament to why multiculturalism is bad.

Ilorin is now firmly part of the Sokoto caliphate owing not to the sole credit of Fulani invasion, but the treachery and treason of the Yoruba Muslim, who put his adopted foreign religion above his own race and empire.

The ridicule emanating from the Ibo towards the Yoruba losing Ilorin started with an infamous speech Zik made in which he subtly took a jab at the Yoruba by alluding that "ibo land has never been conquered by an outside force" and from there Zik went on to claim that his own people will conquer Nigeria via trade and migration , describing his people as a termite horde fleeing their red mount to spread across Nigeria.

It is important I make some clarifications on how Ilorin was lost and not to an invading force but through the treachery of the indigenous Muslim population .

And be that it may, it is also important to state why Ibo land remained unconquered by occupation of an invading force.

A simple glance of a map will show you why Ibo land remained unoccupied especially by the Fulani jihadist.

To the west lies the great and mighty Bini Empire that the Fulani jihadist dared not invade.

To the north of iboland lies the powerful warrior kingdoms of Igala, Tivi and Jukum.

These mighty kingdoms were a buffer zone that isolated and protected Ibo land from the jihadist Fulani.

If these states did not border Ibo land, the Ibo would have been speaking Awusa and practicing Islam in today's world.

The bolded is not true...

Go and read indirect rule in Nigeria during colonialism. Igbo tribe is a tribe that is very difficult to influence no matter what ...

Indirect rule was very successful in the North

It was successful in the south west, but not as successful in the North because there was little resistance (Acephelous)

The indirect rule failed woefully in the East..
It's took British 30 years war to penetrate Igbo land.. Read about ekumeku war in Anioma, Aba women riot and the rest.. It's about the resistance nature of the people, not those surrounding Igbo land .. If it's like that Igbos would have embraced Hausa and Islam after the war for survival because we were left with nothing in 70's..

In fact the hatred for Islam increased after the war, even the few that was practicing Islam in Ebonyi left it in droves and embraced Christianity. If not for the civil war, Islam would have spread like wild fire in Enugu and Ebonyi today.. They were so many Igbo Muslim those days scattering everywhere unlike today it's hated with passion...

So Stop consoling yourself, your tribe is just naturally weak starting from the colonial era..

I even forgot to add that there was a time you people begged British to keep rulling you.. grin grin grin

Iboland was not conquered because there was nothing attractive to draw the attention of warrior tribes to iboland. They were living in small hamlets in small groups and walking about naked at that time. Many wouldn't have even believed there were humans occupying those territories then.

That as well.

Ibo land was a slave raiding territory .

The igalas raided it constantly to supply the slave markets in Kano.

The Binis used it as their ritualist Walmart to gather human sacrifice.

It wasn't worth the trouble conquering.

But the Fulani would have invaded it if they were not blocked by the mighty empires that surrounded Ibo land.

What I ll say is Yorubas aren't week. Treachery gave rise to Ilorin's present situation.
And no one knows what the future holds. But I can guarantee no Fulani or Igbo ll harrass Yorubas.
Lessons has been learned.

Lol, this one doesn't know how Fulanis operate, which language do you want them to use before ?

In the North hausas are majority but fulanis are in charge of traditional and political positions..
In Kwara Yorubas are majority but fulanis invaders are decision makers.. Your number and your language is not a problem to them because they have a target and they are succeeding the way they succeeded in subduing Hausas...

Do you know that there is no Hausa Emiir in entire northern Nigeria ?

What's the use of your language when invaders are decision makers in your town ?

You know nothing about conquer and colonialism. It's good you admitted the yorubas helped to hand Ilorin to Sokoto. Colonialism has little to do with military force and has more to do with cultural and religious control. People won't surrender to a colonial value and power if they don't consider such culture and religion to be superior to their own. It is mental slavery that water the grounds for physical conquest. Also, when people fight against colonialism, they are fighting to protect their values and what they represent. Having no particular values and general unwillingness to protect what they represent is Yoruba biggest problem. They mistake it for liberalism. The west also claim to be liberal but they can do anything to protect "western values".
Igbos are more firm in charting their course than Yorubas. Their anti Islam trajectory is very clear.

While Igbos fought the whites during colonialism, fought a civil war to protect what they represent, fight against fulani invasion presently, and still fight for Biafra, Yorubas invited the whites to colonise them, connive with fulani to conquer Ilorin, support Fulani in politics and openly warn their people to stop fighting for self determination as they'll not be able to govern themselves.

Blame no one but yourselves. You guys have no sense of self determination as you have no common values to protect.

Well,I am not Yoruba .

Secondly, I exposed the role of Yoruba Muslims as a threat to Yoruba harmony .

Thirdly, why does any attempt by Yoruba nationalist to reclaim their patrimony always a threat to you and the Fulani ?

You duplicity in shouting Biafra while demanding Lagos as no man's land shows your real intent.

I wonder why you no longer claim Sabo Hari Kano is no man's land.

This covetous spirit you share with the Fulani is evident with the way you insist on annexing SS into your Biafra and has reared its head over resource control which you side with the Fulani north position.

To be honest, you are no different than the Fulani in every aspect.

You are only mad at them because they beat you at your own game and won't share power with you.

Stop disgracing your lineage and go into history. The Ilorin issue was caused by inter tribal marriage. Marriage to a Gambari woman who influenced her son to change all rulers and everybody in authority after he became King.
The stool is hereditary and the King everywhere has the power to make laws.
Is that not what Chinedu and his mother were planning to do with Lagos hiding under Labour Party? Did he not mention they will change Oba of Lagos? Did he not quickly change campaign managers to Igbos already? Those people were fugitives and got an opportunity to find a place to reside by force.
Igbo land is not conquered by Jihadists but by an Ebonyi man living in Finland? Can you move on the streets in any Igbo state this morning? Not conquered indeed!

The new Biafra anthem! Can you mention another town? This was caused by marriage to a Gambari woman. The stool is hereditary, the woman influenced her son to change everything after he became King. You cry of Ilorin everyday, name another town. I bet you must be typing from SW or under your bed, cos you can't move on the streets today because of an Ebonyi man living in Finland. Hear people calling people slaves!
Ilorin issue is the consequence of a marital mistake, people from ruling homes are not supposed to marry outsiders.
How many towns in Igbo land are being controlled by an Ebonyi man living in Finland? Your parents even get flogged for going to work, yet you don't know you are slaves already. Even only giving you permission only to buy food? I heard women give birth inside bathroom on Mondays there now. Shame!
By the time he increases the 2 weeks to 3 months, maybe that is when it will dawn on you you are slaves.
