The eNigeria platform is a virtual Nigeria where everything in the physical or geographic Nigeria is represented in one online portal.

I am proposing we start it as an open source project. Those interested can follow this thread and also add their contribution following the guidelines which I will later add on this thread.

Some modules to implement on the platform:

Basic modules
--------------------------
1.) Local governments
2.) Cities/Towns
3.) States
4.) Country (Nigeria)

The basic modules represent the core of the platform. These four basic modules should be layered in such a way that from within a state, you can view local government areas or towns/cities.

Other modules

5. People (Residents and Visitors)
6. Neighborhoods
7. Organisations - (Companies, Agencies, Associations, Schools etc)
8. Activities - (Events, News, Discussions, Opinion polls etc)

I will be adding more modules shortly.

Even the government of the day does not have an accurate information on every part of Nigeria. So, this task is going to be difficult. I may not understand what this project will be about, but i'm thinking it will be somethign similar to 50states.com.
