Excerpts of the speech made by Ojukwu in the 60s and compare with the comatose state of the Nigerian federation 54 years after.

“In three years of war, necessity gave birth to invention… we built bombs, rockets, and we designed and built our own refinery, and our own delivery systems and guided them far. For three years, blockaded without hope of import, we maintained all our vehicles.

“The state extracted and refined petrol, individuals refined petrol in their back gardens. We built and maintained our airports, we maintained them under heavy bombardment… we spoke to the world through a telecommunications system engineered by local ingenuity.

“In three years, we had broken the technological barrier, became the most advanced black people on earth.”

–– Colonel Ojukwu Odumegbu Biafran Supreme leader

As at today Nigeria is still dependent on imported fuel, no refineries are working. The currency is now the worst currency on the face of the earth

What happened to Biafra was patrotism. Biafra got that far because many people loved their country, so the struggle to survive and defend the land they loved brought out the best in them. Guess what, many of them even worked for free, including Prof Chinua Achebe.

In Nigeria, forget what you see - Nigerians are not patriotic. East, West, South and North - people are only interested in what they can get from the country and nobody cares about what they can give. We don't even believe in this country. That's why our politicians loot public funds and send it abroad.

I always say that if you want to see if a people love their country, you should observe how they handle public offices. Nigérians look for means to steal from their country.

Imagine a government school teacher who doesn't come to class complaining about a politician who embezzles public funds. Bros, there's no difference between them. The teacher just doesn't have the opportunity the politician has.

In summary, Nigeria will never work until we have a leader who everyone agrees loves the country and will do anything he asks (this worked for Ojukwu and made Biafra go far). Buhari missed the opportunity to correct that anomaly. As for Tinubu, he doesn't stand any chance at all.

Nigeria is getting wesser! "E go better, e go better, na poor man prayer," meanwhile time waits for no one, the clock is ticking! This can be likened to the situation of Nigeria's economy.
