It isn't just the airport. Some unnecessary flyovers that he built are wasted resources

THERE IS STILL WORK GOING ON THERE.

THE AIRPORT WAS NOT COMPLETED YET.

THE REAL OPENING WILL BE THIS DECEMBER, WITH INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS.

IGBO ARE NOT GOING TO LAGOS OR PORT HARCOURT.

IF ENUGU IS NOT READY, WE USE EBONYI AND ANAMBRA.

BOTH ANAMBRA AND EBONYI WILL BE VERY BUSY
Stop giving yourself unnecessary hope, Ebonyi airport won't generate any traffic anytime soon.

The solution is simple, rather than let it waste, the present government should invest heavily in infrastructure and services that will attract traffic to Ebonyi state in addition to heavy investment in human capital development.

Keep deluding yourself. If you in Lagos or Abuja book you free flight to Ebonyi and see far ahead the are infrastructure-wise of the other SE states. With good infrastructure comes investment and before you know it would become the economic hub of the SE.
🤣🤣🤣
U are the one deluding yourself without even knowing
Ebonyi don't need any of those infrastructure now
Do the basic things first. Create wealth for the people by providing basic affordable education, security, health and shelter. If all these things are in place, then u can start building skyscrapers
Mehn... Many of u dont understand what governance is all about.
This how El Rufai, and Ganduje where busy building bridges that the people dont need instead of providing basics things that the people really need

Anambra didn't become the state with the highest numbers of billionaires by govt building skyscrapers. Successive govt did the basic things and create wealth for the people and this in turn boosted the economy of the state
It is private people that have already made wealth that are now building infrastructure to complement govts own
That is how to develop a state faster not Ebonyi people that can't even afford 3square meals that will now have money to entering airport or supermarket
I just pray this new govt have sense and start to think on how to reduce the poverty rate in Ebonyi instead building useless structures to pleased brainless people like u

It is becoming glaringly clear that Umahi borrowed and wasted billions of naira on an airport that all analysts proved wasn’t going to be viable. Today it is now clear to everyone that umahi wasted borrowed billions on ego trip project when most ebonyi people are poor, uneducated and hawking almost everywhere in Nigeria.

Poverty rate in ebonyi is over 80%. when the idea of the airport was first muted, some analysts advised that umahi should use the said funds for the project and invest heavily in human resource development and education, but he shoved it aside, today no Nigerian airline want to fly to ebonyi simply because it is a very unviable route for airlines.

What do you suggest for the present administration in ebonyi state as regards to the abandoned airport?
Imagine airlines operating fully and Boom! the airport is attacked by gunmen on a Monday morning because of the Sit-at-home!
Foreigners are scared of doing businesses in the east with the rising crisis rate and no one is saying anything!
Nigeria has far passed it's time for division, Nigeria has conquered and in it's commerce era and a chance to massively develop the east. hence a hard pill for my eastern family to swallow.
A serious igbo businessman can't live in Abia state, I cried when i first visited.
The earlier we unite, the better for us all.
God Bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Same thing I said on another thread. Some people abused me. Airports being built by these governors are just to embezzle money from the construction contracts. Enugu airport is just 1 hour 30 mins away without traffic

The airport will only be relevant and busy if ebonyi state's economy is good enough to attract business people on a daily basis.

But since they are not there yet, they'll spend some more money to keep maintaining the place until their economy gets there

This airport thingy is like the one between Gombe & Bauchi....Both of those states don't even need an airport as they are very close to Jos..Now imagine after Bauchi did it, Gombe also went & borrowed funds for airport when d distant between Bauchi & Gombe is just 2hr, 800 naira by car & around N200 by train( though very slow train).. The Gombe airport is currently as empty & useless as this ebonyi one.

It seems like these days, airports have become some sort of benchmark for measuring development in a state. But, in reality, shouldn't we be focusing more on investing in education, health, agriculture, and trade to boost human capital development? Those areas are where we're falling short, and it's essential to prioritize them wisely.

And state governors keep getting legislative approval for these projects. Yet more proof of the hollow shell of our so called democracy.

An online search should be able to yield the feasibility study for this sort of project and the Ebonyi one. So far, nothing.

They will always get legislative approval because most legislative chambers in our country are rubber stamp, even if feasibility study says otherwise they will go for it because they are not after the economic value of such project but how much their kickback will be. Come to think of it, if our leaders are serious, how much does it even cost to industrialize compare to wastage on irrelevant projects.

When we say short people and their temper for irrelevance you will say we are talking too much. Ebonyi citizens are hustlers. What else do they expect from the Ex Governor. A productive states that is duely empowered.
