Kioni Reveals Why Uhuru Kenyatta Never Addressed The Congregation Yesterday by Benardkithendu4: 12:13pm On Jul 29, 2023
Kioni Has Revealed The Reason Former President Uhuru Never Addressed The Congregation YesterdayOn Saturday, July 29th, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni addressed the public regarding former President Uhuru Kenyatta's attendance at the Azimio memorial service for victims of police brutality. Despite expectations from some Kenyans that the former head of state would address the audience, he chose to remain silent, a decision that analysts now view as a strategic move to keep the public guessing about his next steps. Kioni explained that the Azimio leaders collectively agreed to allow Uhuru to maintain his silence at the event, which was intended solely to mourn the loss of protesters who had died as a result of police brutality. The joint statement issued by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka represented the collective views of Azimio and its stance on excessive force used against protesters. Uhuru's surprise appearance at the memorial service marked his return to Azimio public events after several months of absence. Kioni has been representing the retired president in rallies and press conferences. Uhuru arrived at the event driving himself in his signature G-wagon car at 4 pm and stayed through the service until 3 pm. In addition to laying flowers to honor the deceased, the former President made a generous donation of Ksh1 million towards the bereaved families, a contribution that was matched by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
