Should Nigeria Involve Militarily In Niger Republic Following Recent Coup? by jazzame: 4:05pm On Jul 30, 2023 |
Nigeria, a key player in ECOWAS and in Africa is considering military action in Niger Republic following the recent coup and it's very important to get public view considering the following: 1. Many in Niger republic are in support of the coup. 2. Nigeria is hugely in debt and a war with Niger, her neighbour will be very disastrous. 3. There is a new dispensation which will be distracted by war and his rule will be marred with dissatisfaction from the public. 4. It might be a war that will never end as there are too many marcineries looking for contracts. 5. Too many locals will fight for the military leadership. Recommendation: 1. The AU must continue to explore dialogue instead of military that will distabilize the new administration. Mod please push to front page as this is a national issue. 1 Like |

Dialogue is the only solution here. If you start peacekeeping mission in Niger, the displaced citizens of that country will seek Refugee in Nigeria. More criminals will enter Nigeria to begin stealing, kidnapping, raping, and killing. At least, the people of Niger are patient and not complaining much. Let peace reign... |

Nigeria should not have accepted to Chair ECOWAS now.We have issues affecting the country that needs all hands on deck to address seriously. We should have stepped back and sit this one out. |

It will be an unwise decision for Nigeria to get involved militarily... First of all, stop this nonsense of a majority of nigeriens backing the coup, in a multi ethnic states, there would be divisions and ethnicity will play a key role on people's support... It is also important for the civilian governments to make a strong statement against the military coup, because with more successful coups and muted response from ECOWAS and international community, it will embolden the armies of west Africa to take power... But still it is an unwise decision to send in the Nigerian army, The Nigerian army is ill-equiped, has so many issues its dealing with...it will also create a vacuum in Nigeria security which the police might have a hard time to deal with... Who will fund the war? The humanitarian consequences of a protracted conflict... Possiblity of a proxy war between USA and Russia... With Mali, Burkina-Faso , Eastern libya, RsF all linked with Russia, Russia can supply the niger army and turn this into a full blown proxy war with USA, with the risk of destabilizing the region |

NO. Why should we send troops to defend a corrupt ARAB ruler of an African nation? The Africans of Niger reject the ARAB misruler of their country, and Nigeria should stay out of their business. The terrible history of ARABS in Africa is such that one is surprised that one of them was actually elected to high office. Ridiculous. |

Niger Republic is France's trash, America has Millitary bases there and they're also the champions of democracy. They should sort out the mess in Niger Republic, Nigeria has enough on her plate already. We can commit the money saved on subsidy removal to waging war in Niger. |

Nah wa for you people, what do you think Nigeria is in Africa? Because some of you are suffering doesn't make Nigeria look the way you are looking at Nigeria, you don't believe your country is great and you want to be great, you talk down your country in the Internet space and you expect to walk into any embassy and want your visa processing be smooth. You accused your leaders of corruption but in your own little area, you are damaging your country as if you have another country. Just because your choice of candidates didn't win, you spread hates all over, shey most of you are doing business, especially you spare part dealers, if customer enter your shop and didn't buy from you but enter your neighbour shop and buy things, did you come online to wail? Do you spread hate about your neighbour? Haba naw, be reasonable. If obi didn't enter now, he may still win in future, it took Buhari several attempts to win. Life nah turn by turn. I'm not saying you should like Tinubu, who even care about whether you like him or hate him, but this country we need to start speaking good about it, shey you have family, love ones, business and property in this country. Thats enough for you to speak good about it, if you feel bad when someone speaks bad about your family name or tribe, you should feel bad when someone speak bad about your country. 1 Like 1 Share |

kettykings:Naivete raised to the power 10... You are carried away by the bravado Tinubu is putting up... You think France will sit by and watch Nigeria upstage them in Niger? Forget the diversionary condemnation, when push comes to shove the big boys will show who is boss.. A military solution will end in disaster... |
