The Organised Labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), says it is reconsidering its decision to embark on a nationwide strike on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

The strike is scheduled to begin with a mass protest.

After the rescheduled presidential steering committee on palliatives meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday, Emma Ugbaja, general secretary, NLC, said President Bola Tinubu’s announced measures were welcomed although they were not comprehensive enough.

Ugbaja said the labour unions would consult with its members to reach a consensus on the next course of action before the day ends.

The truth is this governance thing, everyone want to see actions that sloths the pain of this hardship, plenty talk no dey full basket. Let the needful be done. You no fit repair Nigeria in one year, but their immediate measures that can be put in place to cushion the hardship people are feeling. Do we always have to get to the point of strike before things get done.

Nigeria is beyond repair, overpopulated, ethnic politics, primordial sentiment, stupid and selfish leaders in politics, religion, in civil service, will always hinder it.
