His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke charged Corps Members to impact their host community during the service year.

Senator Adeleke who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor of the State, Prince Kola Adewusi, formally brought the Batch B Stream 1 three weeks Orientation Course to a close at the terminal parade ceremony which held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede on Tuesday.

He congratulated the Corps Members on their completion of the Orientation Course and commended them for their comportment and conduct in the last three weeks. He likewise commended the State Coordinator and his team for their selfless service in actualizing the objectives of the NYSC Scheme.

His Excellency encouraged Corps Members to accept their posting without resentment, serve eagerly, Impact host community and contribute their own quota to it's development. He counselled them to jettison all forms of ethnic, religious and tribal prejudice as he promised to create an enabling and conducive environment for them during their service year.

He also reiterated the State Government's commitment towards the security and welfare of Corps Members. He further charged them to uphold the ideals and core values of the Scheme and also wished them a blissful service year. According to him there are many opportunities opened to those who distinguish themselves during their service year.

The State Coordinator, Mr Agbor Ndoma Obim, in an earlier address, on behalf of the Director General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. YD Ahmed, also congratulated Corps Members on their successful completion of the first phase of their service year.

He likewise appraised their show of discipline through out the Orientation Course and urged them to keep up such attitude. He urged them to maximise the knowledge they had received from the different lectures in camp. He also reiterated the four cardinals programme of the Scheme noting that participation in the fourth cardinal programme is hinged on their active participation and satisfactory performance in the first three.

Agbor urged them to discharge their duties with a sense of commitment as they proceed to their place of primary assignment. He discouraged truancy and all forms of unseriouness and demanded that they impact host community through the community development service. He advised that they take advantage of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development post camp training in perfecting their craft.

Agbor appreciated His Excellency for the 2000 mattresses donated to the camp and execution of other renovation projects in keeping to his promise to uplift the face of the Camp.
He equally acknowledged the presence of the royal father Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Timi of Ede land and other distinguished guests present.

The closing ceremony featured the giving of awards to outstanding Camp officials. Best collaborating officials Award category went to the RSM, the Head of fire service on Camp, ASF Adefioye Adeniyi and the Head of Civil Defence, ASC Ajala Isaiah while for the Best NYSC Officials, Mrs Otemuyiwa Catherine of the publicity and protocol committee emerged first place while Mr David Ayedenu, a platoon Officer and Mr Oyebimpe Opeyemi, a kitchen staff emerged second and third respectively.
