Ten women were among 110
persons charged to court by the
Nigerian police, for looting
government-owned warehouses
and privately owned shops on
Sunday in Adamawa State.


Saharareporters had reported on
Sunday that In what appeared as a
repeat of the fallout of the #EndSARS
protest of 2020, youths in Adamawa
are currently looting government-
owned grain reserves and other
shops.


The youths reportedly started the
looting spree at the grain warehouse
located at PZ Roundabout, a stone's
throw away from the Yola
International Airport.


The Adamawa State Police Command
on Monday arraigned the suspects
before a court for allegedly looting
both government and private
warehouses in the state.
The hoodlums had on Sunday
vandalised the affected warehouses
and carted away food and non-food
items belonging to the government
and private businesses.


The spokesperson for the Police
Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, told
SaharaReporters on Tuesday morning
that "the accused were on Monday
charged to court for prosecution.”

"The command had arrested 110
suspects and recovered a lot of
items. Investigation is ongoing to
apprehend more suspects especially
those who participated in the act as
well as to recover more items," he
added.
