Is the neighbor a man or a woman? The doctor might have gone there to call for a help and died, autopsy could help. The wife, neighbors and everyone including colleagues are prime suspects. Listen to the victim's call log, forensic investigation must solve the crime. Police over to you.

What might have happened? Kidnapping gone wrong? Was the neighbour a male or a female? They didn't mention. If he is a male, then something is fishy. His wife needs to be well questioned.
