The border should be opened to traders while the customs should intensify intelligence towards arms smuggling and other illegal activities. This would reduce the over reliance on the naira/dollar trade. We can now use other trade currency. 43 Likes 4 Shares |

A bag of rice is now 48k. Shege banza pro max no gree me buy half bag. This was a bag of rice that was sold 40k in June. Customs should open the border unconditionally and let Nigerians buy rice at a cheaper rate. I don't understand the jargons the Customs boss is saying. Milk is expensive, vegetable oil, poultry products, even ordinary toothpaste produced locally is almost a thousand naira!! Nigerians are fucking starving!! 122 Likes 8 Shares |

Tinubu should please open the boarder to allow food and other essential commodities to come in. This suffering is too much. Boarders in the South are closed while those in the north are all opened. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

The border should be open for importation of essential items like foods especially rice, but then it may be difficult to monitor the inflow of arms and ammunitions into the country. Honestly it is just a difficult decision to take, considering the fact that our border is so over porous. 31 Likes 2 Shares |

Importing rice can fund Nigerian local rice production.... It's very easy Allow rice import tax it use it to fund improvement of local rice farms, mills and seed development 6 Likes 2 Shares |

I thought they've opened the border already.. Buhari though, he closed all southern borders but allowed the ones in the north to function. Buhari is worse than an infidel!! All these old men just want to possess power, even though clueless !!! 17 Likes 3 Shares |

The funniest thing is Nigeria gov are just recycling the whole process ... today they will say yes to one idea and tomorrow they will say no the same idea .... all those thing happen bcoz they didnt get it right .. now we are going back to the old way of importation that destroy the country .... why cant we just divide the power ... this is simple.... let everyone focus on his own resource ... let us have individual rules of law... individual police and many thing .... why cant we try that coz nothing work anymore or else sowore idea might b the last solution 4 Likes |

Land border should be open to rice and other legit transactions. We don't need to keep fueling the scarcity of food commodities in the face of subsidy removal and inflation. 2 Likes |

Beremx: It simply means we will further weaken the naira because we are selling to buy other countries currency. The question that should be raised is Why is rice expensive? We produce locally, why the blame on exchange rate? Who are the people sabotaging the current situation the country is facing? Do we have enough paddy rice to meet demand? What can we do right now to cushion the effect of dollar to naira 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Open the borders already abeg I suspect this a joker Tinubu is holding unto towards 2027 so that things will become cheap months before the election Local production is a sham It is more expensive to produce locally than to import. Can you imagine 2 Likes |

Realistically, no serious government is supposed to allow individuals to own fuel stations within 10 to 15km on border roads connecting to other countries. That singular oversight alone, is enough to breed intense smuggling activities. To the best of my recollection, owing to the tripartite agreement between the Nigerian FG, the Cameroonian FG and the African Development Bank, all the fuel stations that are within 15Km on the border road connecting Ikom in Cross River State to Ekok/Mfum in Cameroon, have been bought from their initial owners, largely dismantled and the few still standing, have been rendered inoperative. So why has the government failed to replicate the same measure along other State boundaries linking Nigeria to neighbouring countries? |
