I wan see how busybody Tinubu wan take deploy our forces into Niger when the Senate and almost all Nigerians already voted not to invade. Wetin lost for Nigeria hand wey Dem dey look for in Niger? So they're just going to send our boys to go and die there abi?

France and US should deploy their forces into Niger if e sure for them. Africans shouldn't be foolishly used like a tool by the West to kill each other like they set up Ukraine vs Russia.

As a signatory to the ECOWAS Treaty, the Nigerian Senate would eventually approve the deployment, if that's the decision of the entire ECOWAS.

We should pray that there should be no war because if there is war and it becomes elongated, most of our young and abled-bodied men will be deployed to join the war. Starting from NYSC

If any President or Country says the situation in Niger does not concern him or his country, one day, such President or Country may need the help of ECOWAS or AU.

This is not PBAT war, it is a collective decision to fight for one of their own. Let us support our President now for the sake of our tomorrow.

The Junta should release President Bazoum and his family and see the embers of war fade away.

The decision not to let go of the President is the root cause of this war calls

I do not support war but let the Nigerien government release President Bazoum and his family, and give the world the timeline for their exit and handover to a civilian government

From all available indication, they are not releasing Bazoum of the same inept and corrupt as some of them in ECOWAS which is why Africa despite her enormous resources cannot provide quality life for its people.

So let Tinubu and ECOWAS fulfill their threat of force engagement and stop all this countless extraordinary meetings over Niger. They are already justifying their lack of legitimacy to speak for Africans

Though Africa might be poor, I don't think these West African army generals are stupid robots to be controlled by a remote controller. Yes, they will obey last order from their C-in-Cs but they sure do have inputs on the way forward. And their professional inputs are critical.

But the Niger Junta on their own should show goodwill and good faith by at least meeting with ECOWAS and promising to return the country to democracy as soon as possible. Their citizens deserve peace of mind to carry on with their lives.

The ongoing grandstanding is not good for either sides.

Why has the world not invaded North Korea or Mali or Burkina Faso? I think there is something wrong somewhere. This is a sovereign country for God's sake. It is evil to go to war against them for their internal issues.

This is where it becomes dangerous ( dangerous uncertainty, or risks that we cannot even manage), we should not start what we cannot finish, especially if we are like pawns.

And we know what pawns are, these are items to be used and dumped.

We as Nigerians should even be protecting Niger from a France/US invasion because any destabilization of Niger will open the super highway of terrorism straight into the heart of Nigeria, look at the map of Niger again.

Niger is strategic to US in the war against ISIS in Africa. It has a military base in Niger. The country is also strategic to France and it maintains a military base in Niger. I don't think these countries will give up until this junta makes concessions with respect to their interests.

If you follow western Media, you will notice, they are also pushing for this war. Their government want it, because This part of Africa is disposable it seems. We should pray, we don't become the ultimate victims.

Nigerians should note that the position to deploy the military is not Tinubu's position, but ECOWAS position, which a representative of Niger was present in the meeting yesterday.

Again, the regional bloc has explored a lot of peaceful and political means to contain the situation in Niger, but the coupist has shown no sign of readiness to any form of mediation, and that is a disrespect to the head of states of the various countries, who are genuinely concerned about orderliness in Niger.

If the cost of peace is war, then it is a necessary evil that must take place.

Why does Niger look so large on the map? I know Nigeria has more land mass compared to Niger Republic but this map shows otherwise.

Which Peace are we looking for again? Are Nigerians and other ECOWAS member States not at peace?

So innocent Nigerian soldiers should go and die over what doesn't concern them?

How about invading Burkina Faso too since there was a military coup there?

Niger Coup Leaders Threaten To Kill Bazoum As ECOWAS Makes Moves On Military Intervention

The military Junta in Niger has reportedly threatened to kill ousted Nigerien President Mohamed Bazoum following the immediate standby force order issued by the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, in an attempt to restore democracy in the West African country.

It was reported that the junta revealed their dark plot to murder the ousted president to a top United States diplomat.

You will recall that ECOWAS resolved to deploy troops in Niger following the refusal of the military leaders to restore democracy despite the sanctions imposed on them and their collaborators by the regional body.

Your second paragraph is all I have be saying. I think the junta are naive and not clever enough. All they need to do is to have a talk with ECOWAS leader and tell them they will return to democracy within 6 months time that is all, I swear all these noise will die natural death and life goes on.
