I thought tinubu wanted to deploy ecowas troops before. ECOWAS is now divided over that callous move. You cannot enter a sovereign state with forces when they're not at war with you. Have you wondered why buhari, obasanjo, Jonathan and other former leaders have been quiet over that decision? Niger being a landlocked country doesn't mean they can't survive. Sea isn't the only means by which you can reach a country. Land and air are there, even though Nigeria airspace has been shut. They've also shut theirs against ours. Their neighbours are loyal to them so food and other items can enter through their borders into Niger. Hope you know that.

FYI, The junta never said ecowas shouldn't come for dialogue and that doesn't change anything, according to my friend in that country who also has a brother as minister. They only frowned at any attempt to deply troops to them. They welcome everybody who means well. SLS , former emir of kano too had seen them last week. Their people are in support of the coup. The ousted president won't be reinstated.

As we speak, they're already embarking on moves to speed up transition into a civil rule in less than one year and they're committed to it. They're not gonna stay put. They just want decorum and good governance in their country.
