Coups are becoming contagious in West Africa. Nigeria may be next. A lot of the mess you see today such as the Niger Delta crisis, Boko Haram, fantastical corruption, leadership without accountability, killer herdsmen and so on had their foundation laid solidly during the Babangida and Abacha junta.

The first coup i encountered was the 31st December, 1983 coup that disposed Shagari government and installed Buhari's left leaning, economic illiterate junta.
