Omega in collaboration with Fratello Watches designed and released a limited edition “Speedy Tuesday” Speedmaster in 2012 pieces. Given this community was built online, it was only fitting that the Omega Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday was revealed and available for sale online. The watch is a mix of contemporary feel with a nod to the classic vintage Speedmaster look. It’s a stylish, casual wear for those who appreciate vintage design but do not want the hassles of wearing and owning a vintage watch. The watch is a 42mm brushed stainless steel chronograph with a 20mm lug width. The movement is the famous Omega manual wind movement, 1861. Water resistance, although less important is only 5bar/50m. The crystal is made of Hesalite, one of many vintage inspired design aspects of the watch. The dial of the watch is based on the extremely rare ‘Alaska Project III’ released in 1978 for NASA. The dial is a ‘reverse panda’ matte black with contrasting concentric design silver sub registers at 3, 6 and 9. The dial is heavy on Lume! Filled with Super-Luminova in the concentric circles of the sub dials, hands, indices and text make it a stunning dial to appreciate even in low light.
