They must have noticed that after the collection of statement of results, majority of the students don't come back for their original certificate.

Nice strategy.

After all the years of suffer and struggle in the so called Alma mater you'll just end up as one cake vendor or printing recharge card at the comfort of your home, or okrika vendor, affiliate marketer, or wig vendor, shoe vendor, organic cream vendor etc.

Nigeria No Work!

The best reason for school is for you to develop the intuition, balance and skill to own and operate a small and medium enterprise. Or collaborate with others to set up a huge corporations. Na illiterate na wan employ you b4? You have to start a business that can employ others. Country progresses by the SMEs.

Welcomed development. Imagine applying for scholarships abroad for masters and they request for your certificate. You’ll have to wait and wait.
Another development should be giving students their transcripts immediately after graduation

What happens to the main certificate? Statement is usually used only if you haven't collected the main certificate. Why will someone demand for a statement when you can present the main certificate?

Long overdue. Nigeria universities should normalised issuing certificates immediately to graduating students.

Looks like the University needs funds
This is exactly the motive. The issue is why shouldn't certificate be available on the day of graduation as it's applicable in a saner clan.

Certificate should be issued immediately after graduation but it has never been so.
A lot of opportunities have been missed, due to delay in the release of results.
It's better u stick to issuing of statement first which is faster, than certificate dt takes ages to come out.
people don't go back and collect their certificates.

because certificate takes time to produce. If ABSU keeps their promise to give certificates immediately final results are approved by senate, no need for statement of result be that

What nonsense. They should have just stop issuing statement of result, to say previous statement of result is no longer valid is pure hogwash.

No problem, but the issue is that many people that graduated have not seen work, what is the need of certificate

Theses ones are just trying to raise IGR for the school.
They want those who has long left the school to come pick up their certificates.
