shegra58: I see where he's coming from! The accusation of 'Yorubanisation' doesn't only refer to filling most important or 'juicy' positions with Yoruba....it also extends to concentrating federal gov't policies, investments and efforts in the south-west and concentrating the best business opportunities with Yoruba businesses and entrpreneurs while at the same time overtly or covertly cheating and frustrating the developmental efforts of others.....especially the Igbo/south-east who the Tinubu clique of Yoruba elite see as the 'hated competition' that should be politically and economically undermined! Buhari used this very same template well to 'favour' the Fulani and north-west while cheating/marginalising the Igbo/south-east.....Tinubu is only continuing from where Buhari left off! The OP is known for searching for negative stories on Igbos' and the south-east to post on nairaland while doing the opposite for his own region/ethnicity! Ohaneze and other Igbo have been asking for the coal and gas deposits, especially the ones found in Enugu, to be commercialised and hence benefit the areas they're exploited from! I remember them asking Buhari for this when they visited him some years back! NOTHING was done concerning their request! ALL the solid minerals Ebonyi is blessed with....nobody is talking about exploiting those! Not even up to a week these ministers were sworn in, they've already started concentrating on issues, investments and projects that will primarily favour the Yoruba/south-west! We all remember how the Nigerian state under Buhari cheated Anambra of their 13% derivation payments, until Obiano kicked up a fuss and made noise about it, then they were grudgingly paid.....but not after they found a way to reduce what Anambra got by including Kogi state! |

“I recommend the need to have some sort of support or some formalisation programme, to promote legal and responsible mining practices. We need to create opportunities that allow illegal miners to operate legally; this development can also ensure that mining is done in a sustainable and responsible manner,” Osam Iyahen, senior director, natural resources at Africa Finance Corporation, told BusinessDay in an interview. The above is what should have been done in the Niger Delta Region. 1 Like |
