I don't understand why cooking gas is being sold as high as N750 per Kg despite the abundance of the product in the country such that much could be planned for export to Europe. cooking gas should be sold at not more than N300 per KG, this will encourage CNG conversions in many petrol engines including Cars.

I agree with you to an extent, but one thing you should know is that majority of the gas that we consume here in nigeria is been imported from europe, reason been that local production can't match local demand.

The government needs to asap make adequate investment to boost local production so that it can meet local demand. If that is taken care of the prices of cooking gas will fall sharply, it won't be subjected to fluctuations of the dollar.

Yes , we import cooking gas . Remember cooking gas is a petroleum gas. Is a by products of refinery. Since our refinery is not working . We import all the by products of refined crude oil.

NLNG is a privately owned franchise since Buhari sold it under the table .

They own every cubic feet of Nigeria's gas and oil assets.

They priotize exports to Europe .

The sad thing about NLNG was that if you decide to tap gas from oil exploration they will quickly step in but once you flare it they won't be bothered.

This is Jewish greed at work that ensures that anything that can be commodified must attract their interest.

Do you not recall that gas prices spiked after US sanctions on Russian gas supplies to Europe were rolled in and it took a further spike after the US/UK/Israhell did a terrorist attack on nordstream pipelines?

Nigeria is the most jewed nation on earth since 1966 courtesy of the Ohu foolishness.

I believe Cooking gas is one of the easiest to produce than petrol, why are we then relying on Foreign production?

We are complaining about the decline in our manufacturing sector but the easiest product we can produce which will greatly counter petrol import is been neglected.

Please natural gas has no business with the fractional distillation of crude oil. The products of refining crude oil are petrol (or gasoline), naptha, kerosene, diesel, lubricating oil, fuel oil, and grease wax. It goes through processes. This is taught in elementary chemistry. This is what refineries do.

On the other hand, natural gas occurs in oil wells and goes off during the exploration and production of fields or offshore crude oil deposit. Where it is not flared, it is harnessed and piped to plants (such as NLNG) where it is further processed for domestic consumption.

In the past, Nigeria mostly made money from the sales of crude oil. We extract from the earth and sell to interested buyers. Back then, the use of gas for power generation and domestic consumption wasn't popular.

However, times have changed as countries are signing treaties and are increasingly moving away from fossil fuels to embrace cleaner energy sources. That's why gas is popular now.

Today, Nigeria is building plants and pipelines to process and export gas in commercial quantities. For instance, Shell in conjunction with NNPC is building in Imo State and Seplat is doing the same too.

Natural gas is not LPG . LPG which is our cooking is propane gas or petroleum gas. While LNG is liquified natural gas under extreme low temperature of methane. LPG is byproduct of cracking of petroleum. NLNG doesn't have refining components for crude oil therefore we imports LPG.

Yes, you are right about cracking, but we get more LPG as the byproduct of natural gas processing.

Yes, NLNG produces LPG too.

it doesn't remove the facts that most of our LPG is imported about 80% of them. Thanks for more clarity

Yes, I think that's why they are expanding their plants across the country to satisfy both local and international markets.

Thanks too for the cracking thingy. I didn't know that aspect of LPG before now cheesy
