The Drilling Supervisor (DSV) assumes a pivotal role in overseeing the offshore drill crew and other service providers during all drilling, completion, and workover operations. The primary objective is to ensure that the well is executed in adherence to local regulations, Company policies, and established guidelines. The DSV also holds a crucial responsibility in providing comprehensive Safety Leadership across all facets of the operation.

Responsibilities:

Operations: Establish day-to-day communication channels between onshore management and the

Wellsite: Take accountability for ensuring that all rig activities follow a structured plan:

Discuss tasks in planning meetings.
Ensure alignment with procedural guidelines.
Conduct thorough risk assessments.
Foster clear understanding among all crew members involved in tasks.
Review operations to distill valuable lessons.
Act as the focal point of contact for Company’s third-party drilling vendors.
Supervise the safe and efficient execution of drilling, completion, and workover activities at all times.
Contribute insights into drilling, well operations, and completions plans.
Monitor movements of personnel and materials related to all wells to prevent program delays.
Provide accurate reporting of drilling, completion, and workover activities.
Facilitate effective communication between the offshore team and onshore support group.
Support the Installation and FPSO teams regarding matters related to drilling, completion, and workovers.
Fulfill duties within the Permit to Work System (PTW) as outlined in relevant documentation.
Liaise with FPSO operations team regarding work programs, interfaces, and associated risks.

Performance:

Take responsibility for delivering well activities in alignment with performance criteria specified in well programs, including HSE, days per 10K, days per completion, and cost.
Ensure optimal utilization of offshore services and equipment, with timely return upon task completion.
Record lessons learned and contribute to the End of Well Report (EOWR).

People:

Assist in monitoring, appraising, coaching, and developing offshore Well Engineering, Well Services/Completions personnel, and other direct reports.
Foster team-building efforts, cultivating a culture of openness, involvement, and active participation.
Actively contribute to achieving team objectives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in managing drilling operations, covering planning, execution, and team leadership.

In-depth understanding of drilling techniques, equipment, and industry best practices.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and adeptness at making rapid decisions under pressure.
Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a knack for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Proficiency in utilizing drilling software and tools for project planning and monitoring.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
