ALL OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES HAVE APPROVAL AND ACCREDITATION OF NUC, PROFESSIONAL BODIES – AE-FUNAI VC
The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Prof. Sunday Elom has said that all academic Programmes of the University have the approval and accreditation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other relevant professional bodies.

The Vice-Chancellor made this known recently during the 11th Matriculation ceremony of the University for the 2022/2023 academic session.

”it is also refreshing to note that all our academic programmes have the approval of the National Universities Council (NUC) and other relevant professional bodies like the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN)”.

The Vice-Chancellor further announced that 5,097 freshmen were admitted into the University, out of over 15,000 candidates that applied to study in the University, adding that the students came from virtually every part of the country.

He also stated that the students joined the university at a time it adopted Blended Learning in its academic activities, noting that “Blended Learning is a combination of face-to-face and online methodologies of teaching and learning geared towards ensuring seamless teaching and learning, and reducing the challenges posed by inadequate physical infrastructure and lecturers”.

Continuing, the Vice-Chancellor expressed the profound gratitude of the University Management to AE-FUNAI Parents’ Forum, an umbrella body of parents/guardians of the students for their unparalleled contributions to the development of the university especially in the provision of critical infrastructure.

He equally stated that the University’s forte is the knack for building the intellectual, hands on and spiritual capacities of the students to enable them acquire the relevant functional knowledge and sellable skills to be resourceful and productive in the 21″ century digital economy; with a well-balanced personality, hence the start every academic session with a University-wide interdenominational church service and jumm’at prayers.

” I assure you of our irrevocable commitment to this mandate, in pursuing this mandate, we also acknowledge the indispensable place of God in shaping the destinies of our staff and students”.

The Vice-Chancellor described AE-FUNAI as one of the most serious public Universities in Nigeria, where academic activities are treated with every seriousness with the mantra of Excellence and Integrity , and urged matriculating students to be serious minded and make most of the opportunity afforded by the admission by ensuring that they attended classes, did their assignments promptly and obey the University rules and regulations.

“Also, be informed that Alex -Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike , Ebonyi State, has absolute zero tolerance for cultism , exam malpractices, bullying, ‘sorting’ campus prostitution/sex-for-grades and mproper dressing, and we do not alsohesitate to sanction offenders accordingly.

“Specifically, we have constituted a Committee on Improper dressing on campus and any student found dressing improperly would pay a fine of N10, 000 for each offence. So be warned. Dress the way you would like to be addressed.”

He also assured students of adequate security on campus, pleading that they should not hesitate to report any suspicious activities, intimidation and harassment of any sort to the Dean of Students Affairs, security officials, SERVICOM or any staff of the University for immediate action.

In conclusion, the Vice-Chancellor advised the new students not to waste the opportunity offered to them in the University to learn, unlearn and relearn by chasing frivolities.
