The host team won the game at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, but Ahli devised a strategy to thwart the attacking threats of the home team.

Enyimba kept up the pressure on the Libyan team, but they were unable to penetrate their opponent's water right defense as the first half finished scoreless.

The Nigerian team resumed the second half by making every effort to score a goal while Benghazi made every effort to neutralize the threat.

Geroge Owen's goal-bound shot in the 75th minute gave him the best opportunity of the second half.
