The minister of art, culture, and creative economy, Hannatu Musawa, has firmly quashed recent claims that she is currently immersed in the mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

The rumored statement, which caused a viral uproar, was refuted by Musawa herself in a release issued on Monday. The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation (FMINO) spokesperson, Suleiman Haruna, echoed her denial, clarifying that no official statement had been made by the minister regarding her participation in the Youth Corps program.

The minister, while expressing gratitude for the support of Nigerians, emphasized that she had not issued any statement on the matter. This follows widespread media coverage on Sunday suggesting that Musawa had indeed verified her NYSC engagement.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) also confirmed her corps member status. Eddy Megwa, NYSC spokesman, affirmed, "Yes, she is a serving corp member," in a statement to TheCable, a digital media outlet. Musawa, who was sworn in alongside 45 ministers into the Federal Executive Council (FEC) by President Bola Tinubu last week Monday, sets the record straight amidst the swirling NYSC speculation.
