Is Africa Type Of Democracy Better Than Military Government? by AntiTerrorist: 2:39pm On Aug 30, 2023 |
The first true attribute of democracy is the ability to elect leaders of our choice, but no, African politicians rig elections, unleash thugs on people they perceive not as their supporters, beat up electorates, snatch ballot boxes even with the help of security agents, write results and announce it. They expect you to accept that as democracy, and tell you it is better than military government. If this is what they call democracy, sane African societies are telling them they will rather accept military government. copied 2 Likes 2 Shares |

No difference @ all. They are the same. Peter Obi wrote and I quote “A government having forced itself into power in a similar way the putschist did in the Niger Republic, cannot be arrogating itself the honour to lead a puritan force against a sovereign nation. The process leading to any electoral activity is a lot more important than its outcome. The processes that led to the 2023 general election were skewed, manipulated, and rigged. A government that came into office through such illegal means does not have the moral justification to begin to query a similar process perpetrated outside the shores of this country. If the election is wantonly manipulated, a govt that emerged from such a process is similar to a military coup. A coup is actually where people extend their limit beyond what is being provided by the constitution. When you rig yourself into election, it is also a coup...".The events of the 1960-70s Africa is reincarnating again. Nigeria is also @ that threshold. 1 Like |

Brooo no matter how worst it is, I still prefer it to military era, at least we can hold some public officials accountable in this worst democracy but won't dare in any military rule Why I laugh at some people supporting military takeover is they think the military are foreign people They are the same citizens who have 99.9 tendency of been more corrupt than the politicians we are detesting. And funny enough They won't be checked, because they have absolute power. All the countries that military have taken over so far, how are they are they Better Infact the countries ended up being worst. Just take a look at what is happening in Myanmar, I don't want to even mention Burkina Faso. It's funny how a Nigerian will be blaming politicians when they scam their fellow Nigerian at any opportunity. Make una continue. The same people you guys protested against during endsars tagging it police brutality are the same guys you people want in power. Change yourself and your country will change for better AntiTerrorist: |

It is far better Because the African presidents where Democracy functions like Kenya,Ghana Senegal and SA cannot have more than a maximum of 2 terms The Military cannot be removed by Civilians by elections even after 2 terms |

Nah small children who don't know about military regime that are celebrating military rule.... It is 10 times brutal and inhumane than the worst democracy on earth. Imagine wanting a typical military man in Nigeria who brutalize the people who he is suppose to protect at every given time to rule you christistruth01: 1 Like |
