Hello Sports fans,

As part of the our launch preparations, we're running a competition to share with us a story of "My Greatest Game". This could be a game involving Nigeria, another National team, favourite club team or even your own local team which you might be playing in. To win, just give us the 'Story' as to why it was your greatest game and the key events during the match.

We'll kick this off with the 'My Greatest Game' Story of ours:

                                               Nigeria Vs Brazil - Atlanta 1996 Olympics Football Mens Semi-Final

Known as the 'Dream Team', the Nigerian team went into the Olympics football tournament as an unknown and were drawn against the mighty Brazilian team including the mighty Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos & Bebeto in the Semi Finals of the competition. This Nigerian team included many of the most decorated Nigerian footballers we know today with the likes of Kanu, still playing (Only 31 or 32 lol), Okocha, Amokachi, Celestine Babayaro, Taribo West, Victor Ikpeba and the rest.

The game now tagged as the "The Great Soccer Collapse", had Brazil go into the game dominating straight away and ahead 3-1 by half time. For Nigeria, It was now all or nothing to try to get into game and they came back into the second half and after settling down, clawed back into the game making it 3-3 with goals by Substitute Victor Ikpeba and Kanu leveling the game.

With the match in Extra time, Nigeria with the momentum began looking for the winning goal. They were passing the ball around confidently and then came the moment from the left when a pass was floated into the box and bounced off the back of Victor Ikpeba. The ball runs towards Kanu who with a lot of composure, takes a first touch to put the ball unto his left side and then unleashes a fierce left footed shot which the keeper had no chance in the world with. The following celebrating dance by Kanu was the most flexible I've ever seen him since then lol. I was filled with so much joy and I had goose pimples all over as we had just won a tie against the best team in the world and passed into the Finals of the Olympics for the first time ever.

It was my proudest moment as a Nigerian fan and it's a shame that till today, that's what we can see as our greatest achievement since.

Of course we later went on to beat Argentina in the finals coming back from a goal down to win 2-1 so that was the best possible ending to that fairy tale 'Story'.

Man utd complete the final leg of a historic treble by scoring 2 goals in as many minutes to beat the german side after being 1-0 down for most of the match. Late goals by Sheringham and Solskjaer added the CL trophy to the premier league and FA cup already won. Incredible comeback.
