OAU ALUMNA AIMS FOR MISS UNIVERSE NIGERIA TITLE
Also known as Great Ife, Obafemi Awolowo University is one of Nigeria’s “Ivy League” universities, renowned for producing exceptional and successful alumni. Some of the popular alumni of OAU include global superstars like Asake, Fireboy DML, top corporate executives like the CEO of MTN, Karl Toriola, President of African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina as well as billionaire businessmen Femi Otedola, Jimoh Ibrahim and two sitting governors amongst a host of others phenomenal industry players.

Violet Ejiata has the OAU DNA in her, having graduated from the faculty of Law in 2019 with a second class degree (upper division).
The Miss Universe Nigeria pageant produced by Silverbird Group grants the ticket to the Miss Universe global pageant where over 100 licensed countries send their representatives to vie for the Miss Universe title. Nigeria is yet to win this crown in the pageant’s 71 years of existence. The only representative who ever emerged as far far as the top 10 was Agbani Darego, before proceeding to win the Miss World 2001 pageant in the same year.

Violet represented OAU at the maiden edition of Miss Campus Osun in 2017, and bagged the prestigious university her first MCO title. Will history repeat itself?
Violet, a true Pan-Nigerian who has visited 18 of Nigeria’s 36 states, has been shortlisted as a finalist at the Miss Universe Nigeria 2023 pageant representing Kano state.

The emerging actor hopes to leverage the platform to promote her advocacy on menstrual equity which focuses on period poverty intervention. She is in the process of establishing the first ever National Dialogue on Period Poverty in Nigeria.
