Africans are watching with keen interest the booting out of the so called "civilian" leaders in some African countries. From Sudan to Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Chad, and recently Niger and Gabon. In many of the African countries, citizens were seen jubilating and welcoming the military with open arms.

First, it is a shame that the civilian rulers in Africa are so wickedly corrupt and clueless to the extent that the citizens were left with no option but to celebrate the return to power of the once chastised military junta in Africa. It is a shame that civilian rule (democracy), despite all the promises of it, has had no impact on the wellbeing of the people of Africa. It is a shame that even the western evangelists of democracy could not find their voice due to the pervasive poor performance of democratic leaders on the continent of Africa. Every country you go in Africa, the junta have valid reasons to boot out the civilian leaders and wherever it happens, the people celebrate.

Instead of the remaining civilian African leaders to see this as an opportunity to re-orient themselves and begin to work hard and in the interest of the people, they are now busy sacking their miliary generals and putting their puppets to prevent the "inevitable". We have seen these foolish steps been taken in Cameroon, Rwanda, etc. It is foolish because there is no guarantee that whoever heads the military won't be interested in power. As a matter of fact, the more upset and manipulations you do in the military hierarchy, the more the likelihood of even a coup when you have crooks undeservedly heading the military.

The only thing that can prevent any civilian government in Africa from being booted out is to show to the world and the people of the country that leadership is about the people and not personal shenanigans, titles, acquisitions, etc. Work hard for the people and the country. Develop your country and empower your people. It is not difficult to do and if you think it is a difficult thing to do, leave the stage for those who can do it. There is no excuse for failure... It is not by force to lead a country if you don't have a clue.

They are confused. They are surprised how Igbos support the coup against Igboman. They have not yet evolved properly above tribalism
